It was working fine, then my husband vacuumed up some fine dust tile and now it won't turn on at all. He says it did not get hot, did not shut off, nothing. And now it won't turn on at all so I am assuming it is Thermal protector but not really sure.

Just no power. I cleaned everything and everything is ok and clean.

Been there... done that. Vaccuming fine powder can interfere with contact of the brushes against the armature of the motor. You can turn it on and off all you want, but if the brushes have a coating of fine powder on them the motor won't run. If there's any way to "blow it out" with something like compressed air, then spin the motor by hand (with the unit UNPLUGGED) a few times, try that. If the motor starts after plugging in and turning it on, it was most likely dirty brushes.

Power button is not working

Hi Mohammad! If your vacuum is not turning on this could mean your thermal protector has activated. The thermal protector will shut your vacuum off or prevent it from powering on when the motor reaches a certain temperature. Check the vacuum hoses for clogs and clean and replace all filters if needed. If the vacuum does not turn back on within 24 hours you could be having an issue with your switch. We recommend taking the vacuum in to a Hoover authorized service center for repair. Follow the link below to locate the nearest service center to you. Service Center Locator
Hope this helps!

Hoover bagless keep shutting off after about 5 minutes of cleaning and take about 30 minutes or more to work again. Is it overheating and why? how can I fix this?

Your hoover has a thermal protector that shuts power to the motor off for 30 mminutes if it trips. Tripping of the thermal protector it typically caused by an obstruction of some sort, there are several locations to check. First, remove the bagless filter and look for a rectangular plastic object centered under where the canister was. This "final fillter" is often overlooked and can be washed in your kitchen sink. Let dry completely before using. Other things to look at are on the big plastic filter inside the canister, make sure the holes arent clogged with dirt, this also can be washed in your sink. Of course check the lines from just behind the brush all the way to the filter for clogs. If all else fails, take it and your warranty if still good to an authorized service center to have it serviced... I've noticed on this model, if the thermal protector trips too many times, it seeems to be more prone to trip to the point that it doesn't matter if theres a clog or not anymore. This is how I found out about this problem, as I work for a hotel using these (and these are not designed to be commercial grade). They cost like $50 to service this $80 vaccume so, being that the warranty was void for using them commercially, and the cost of the servicing, I simply bypassed the thermal protector and make it a point to completely clean them 1-2 times a weeek till we can get a more commercial model.

May not be your exact model but should be similar.

The Bissel vacuums include an internal thermal protector to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates, the cleaner will stop running. Should this happen proceed as follows:

1. Turn the cleaner OFF and unplug from electrical outlet.

2. Check the Pre-Motor Filter and Post-Motor Filter for dirt accumulation.

3. Remove any clogs.

4. When the vacuum is unplugged and motor cools for approximately 30 minutes, the thermal protector should automatically resets and cleaning may continue.

5. If the thermal protector continues to activate after following the above steps, your cleaner may need servicing. Call Bissell Customer Service:

After from ten to fifteen minutes of use it automatically shuts down but will sstart up again after fifteen minutes.

It sounds as if the motor has overheated at some point and damaged the thermal protector in the motor. Be sure all the filters are clean before operating the vacuum. If it continues to shut down, the thermal protector will need to be replaced. ( Part # 28382093 ) This is a very common problem with bagless vacuums, if the main filter is not cleaned after every vacuuming.

The region of the motor gets very hot during use. What can I do?

The Hoover is likely built with a temperature overload protector, to shut down the unit if it gets excessively hot. All the units will get heat build-up from the suction motor during use.

Hoover Wind Tunnel bagless- issue with turning on

Have you tried to plug the vaccuum in another outlet that is on another breaker? It could be the vaccuum tripped the breaker. Turn the breaker back on. The manual mentions the thermal protector could have been activated. If this happened it resets and your vac should run after 30 minutes. I have a Widepath Tempo and it has tripped the surge protector. If this is the problem try turning some things off that are also on that breaker/outlet, or unplug them when you use the vac.
