Question about Kenmore 24902 Top Load Washer
Our washer was fine this am. Then I put a load in, the water filled up, and then nothing happened. There does not seem to be any power going to the washer. I turned the knob, checked the circuit, checked the plug, etc., but nothing. I'm trying to figure out if if this is something I can fix (I'm not extremely handy), if it's worth it to call a repair person, or if I need to call it a day with this washer (I'm estimating it's about 10 years old). Any thoughts you have would be appreciated. Thanks!
When the unit completes its filling cycle, a relay will be activated to start the wash cycle. A 10 year old unit probably has dirty/corroded or otherwise malfunctioning relay contacts. This should be repaired by a qualified repairman as high voltages pass through these relays.
