Question about Apple iPod MA446LL/A MP3 Player

Putting pictures on my ipod

When i put pics on my ipod it works great until I go to look at them on my ipod. The pics that I copy onto my ipod are all distorted looking. There are lines and colors running through the pics that I'm sure aren't suppose to be there. I've tried to re-do this a couple of times, but everytime that I do I get the same outcome. Other than that it's an awesome ipod!!

Putting iPods with a Click Wheel into disk mode
  1. Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged.
  2. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.)
  3. Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears.
  4. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
  5. Then attempt to restore.

How to "Unfreeze" your iPod

If you have owned you iPod for about a year, you will notice that it will freeze up every once and a while. If it has not done this yet, believe me, it will. When it happens you will probably panic, like I did. But don't, there is a simple way to unfreeze it that works almost every time.
Resetting your iPod

Hold the middle button(select button) and the "Menu" button on your iPod down for about 7-10 seconds, or until you see the Apple logo appear in the middle of the screen.

Wait for iPod to start back up. Now it should be working properly. If you own an iPod Touch then hold down the "Power/Reset" button(the one on top) and the "Home" button(the one on the front with the square in the middle) for at least 10 seconds or until you see the Apple logo.

Restoring your iPod
If this does not work, you can try "Restoring" it. When you restore an iPod, you are extracting the "Flawed" software and putting new software back onto it. So first plug your iPod into your computer, then open up iTunes and select your iPod in the list of devices to left. Now right under the big picture of your iPod you'll see a button labeled "Restore," click it. Restoring will wipe all your music, movies and pictures off of your iPod, but if you restore you iPod on the same computer that you sync it too, then you'll be fine, you just need to re-sync your iPod once you're done restoring your it. Restoring will take about 10-15 minutes.
Hope this helps!

IPod Touch doesnt show in "my computer"?

I know you were asking for rich, but I've got a suggestion that may help.. Have you attempted to put it into disc mode and restore yet? You said you have already done the 5 R's but with disc mode it should work. I've included a step by step below on putting an ipod into disc mode just in case you are unfamiliar with how it goes. I hope this helps you resolve your issue. However, if it does not resolve your issue; you most likely have a hardware issue and will need to either get the unit serviced or replaced.

Putting ipod into disc mode http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1363 Putting iPods with a Click Wheel into disk mode Before placing the iPod into disk mode, you should verify that it is charged. Toggle the Hold switch on and off. (Set it to Hold, then turn it off again.) Press and hold the Menu and Select buttons for at least 6 seconds until the Apple logo appears. When the Apple logo appears, release the Menu and Select buttons and immediately press and hold the Select and the Play/Pause buttons until the Disk Mode screen appears.
Connect the iPod to your computer; the screen on the iPod will change and say "Do not disconnect" If you are having difficulty putting the iPod model into disk mode, set it on a flat surface. Make sure that the finger pressing the Select button is not touching the Click Wheel. Also make sure that you are pressing the Play/Pause button toward the outside of the Click Wheel and not near the center.
If you are still unable to put your iPod with a Click Wheel into Disk Mode, use one finger from one hand to press the Select button, and one finger from the other hand to press the Play/Pause button.

Well, I know this may sound stupid, but try putting all of the photos that you want on their at the same time and save a backup copy to your computer just in case.

Transferring pics from ipod video, 30gb back to laptop

I don't think that is possible. Its a one way thing where you can only put pictures from your computer into the IPod.

If it does work, click on your Ipod in Itunes and go to the pictures folder and see if it will let you drag and drop them.

If it does then it work but ITunes doesn't work that way under normal situations.
