Holy geez I'm a freaking genius!

you hold down the mode button for 2 seconds and then the alarm time will blink, hit the stop button and it will take you to normal time, you can use the stop button to move to what you want to change and then use the reset button to change it.... to get back to your normal watch time you hit mode again

Amazing how this thread could have persisted for years with everyone posting incorrect answers. However, Timex's immensely confusing system of product model numbering is the root cause.

On the back of your Timex watch, "WR 30M" certainly appears to be the model number -- it is located at center, a bit more than halfway down. Not so. Go the bottom of this pagehttp://www.timex.com/info/Product_Instru...

There will be a section there with this title and content

    Timex Module Table
Locate the the 3-digit module number located on the caseback of most Timex products and then use the tabs below to find that number and the link to your manual's language.
    [END QUOTED TEXT FROM TIMEX.COM]

There's a picture there that shows the location of the actual model number -- the lower left portion of the back of the watch. The location of this number, and the lighter numbering, would lead most people to conclude that the three-digit number was meaningless. That's Timex's idiotic error. "Idiotic" is fair, because even this information is at the BOTTOM of the page, following a series of other sections that offer ways to find your watch using confusing approaches.

The above information is generic to all Timex watches.

As to the ostensible "WR 30M", the three number code on my WR 30M watch is "555".

At the very bottom of the page is a way to get any manual, in a number different languages, by using the three-digit number.

I do not see 555 listed.

  • monarch00 Jan 10, 2011

OOPS. I found it. It wasn't in numerical order.

I solved going to Quemex.com / Service / LCD watch instructions.
No more beep.

Set date on 1440 sports watch 504-t5k085

My watch has model number 504-tsk085, labeled Timex 1440 Sports, and Timex provides the incorrect manual for it online. I wrote these instructions after careful experiment:

Upper left button: press to switch to a stopwatch, or...

Press and hold to enter alarm setting mode. Once flashing press again to enter time/date setting mode.
-- you can only do one or the other without exiting the setting
mode (time or alarm set).
- within the setting mode you use the two right side buttons
in obvious ways to set times/dates
Exit setting mode by pressing upper left again

Lower left button: light
Upper right button (when not setting time): reveal date while pressed

Lower right button (when not setting time): reveal alarm time while pressed.

ALSO: WHILE lower right button is pressed you can change alarm
on/off and chime on/off through the four possible settings by
secondarily pressing the upper right button repeatedly.

How do i reset date after battery change? or where can i cet a pdf file a9no calliber number on case or movement but its a timex perpetual with indigo light approx 30 yers old

to reset the date manually, pull the stem out to the second position to reset TIME; manually continue setting time until the date is on the correct day/date.
I had to do this to get back to the proper date when my timex was off by a week. Nothing else worked. 14 times around (twice per 24 hour day) and each time I passed "midnight" the date advanced.
blessings!

Changing the DAY on this analog watch.

On some analog Timex watches with a day/date window there are only two "pull-out" positions on the stem, one for changing the date and one for the time. To change the day you need to pull the stem all the way out and crank the hands through 24 hour periods until you get the day correct. Be sure that you have the correct AM/PM setting (if you are setting the watch after noon you need to advance the hands another 12 hours so that the day changes at midnight)

Stting the time

http://assets.timex.com/instructions/w3Instr.pdf

Try the link above for a manual.  It is NOT the same watch, but does have some buttons named similarly to the 1440.  Go to the Time and Date section.  The key was to hold down the SET button till the seconds flashes, then use START/SPLIT to adjust the value and MODE to toggle to the next field etc.
Best of luck
