No you cannot! There is a switch on the convergence pnl for complete convergence. You can make things 10 times worse if you don't know what your doing.

We have a philips projection tv 60PP920217F we can not alighn the blue color the picture is concaved on bottom and top

This is a convergence problem and can be repaired by replacing the two STK-392-120 convergence chips and adjusting the set with the original remote control

I have specific instructions for this repair from start to finish.

Can I repair this problem myself?

You could do it but you would need the service manual to be able to do the tube and lens alighnment. You have to align the tube and lens before you can adjust convergence, and if you dont alighn properly you will kill your convergence ICs trying to compensate. If you would like me to post a link where you can get the manual let me know.

Alighning tv

i have an alinemenet problem with my rca tv P52929 i went to the book and it said to go to the menu and select 3 which is the screen menu then select option 6 which is the adjust projection tv. this is suppose to allow you to adjust the the tv's three colors. it says to select the green centering to adjust the green tube. blue for the blue and red for the red. it says to center the green first then adjust the red and blue tubes until the test pattern on the tv screen appears white. i hope this helps you. my problem is that the program is not in my tv. it has everything else but not the option 6 to adjust the tv. this may be your problem to. good luck.

This tv has been a nightmare, its been down 3 times in 4 years.

The convergence board, AA95-01799G is available from http://www.samsungparts.com for about 122 bucks + shipping. You also may need to get the service manual so you can do the convergence alighnments with this set when you replace the board. You will also need the manual to perform the perfect focus alighnment on this set if you have that feature. Good Luck

Blue curves up on the ends and red down

Your going to need to hook up a cross hatch generator to adjust the internal convergence alighnments. Anytime, a tube is replaced, there is alot of alighnment involved with the convergence, and it cannot be alighned from the customers convergence controls. I suggest first you get a service manual, and follow the alighnment to the letter for the convergence. If you do not have a cross hatch generator, then your going to need a test disc(DVD) that has a cross hatch on it. If you do not have access to those two things(cross hatch generator or the test disc) you will need to call out a tech to do this alighnment to the set. They (service tech) don't tell you when you get an estimate for a picture tube that there is some alighnment involved that reguires special test equipment. Thats why they charge what they do. I wish I had better news for you, but without proper test equipment, this is going to be a tough battle. Good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread.

Picture got shadow

First thing to do is go to http://www.servicemanuals.net and get the service manual, as if you dont adjust these things in the proper order, it will never alighn or it will take you hours on end, because most of the time, when you move one thing, it affects the other alighnment, so if you do it off the cuff your having to do one, go back touch up another and may need to redo the same alighnment a hunderd times!~! See my point? Now if one section is not responding to the ajustment, or all of a suddenly the adjustments went out, and you try to adjust them, STOP! The alighnments may drift a little over the sets lifetime, but never will they go out drastacly, unless the convergence IC's go bad. They are the black rectangle IC's that start with STK and are mounted onto stand up metal heat sinks. If your not a tech or know the safty issues with a TV set, please call out a trained service person to assist you with this repair.

Wow for the convergence to shift you must have really moved it. First try the manual convergence on the set. if that dosent help then your gonna need a pro to come in and adjust it for you as it takes special equipment and the know how to do this kind of alighnment as its not a consumer alighnment sorry couldnt assist more. Good Luck

Mitsubishi VS-60601 60 in. Rear Projection Television Concave

You have a convergence problem my friend. Theres nothing as an alighnment or adjustment you can do unfortanatly as there are no user serviceable parts in these sets unless your a tech and know your way around a projection tv as there is alot of voltage inside these puppys when its off. But Its most likly the Main convergence driver IC's and most repair such as this require alighnment afterwords as well so the average reapir cost on a set with this problem would be about 250 to 400.00 depending on if theres any other componets that fail at the same tim?? Sorry couldnt assitya more But if you need to contact the main company at this addy CustomerCare@meus.mea.com and see if they can direct you to a reliable servicer. Good Luck

CONVERGENCE PROBLEM

Yes sir anytime you move a projection set ,theres a chance that the convergence could go out of alighnment as it dosent take much. First off your gonna need a cross hatch generator and a service manual and a good kno how on convergence alighnment as when you adjust some controls you need to counter it withanother completely differant alighnment control> so in some cases to get a section or a linearity correction your gonna spend some time. I myself remeber one set I spend 5 hours on after a customer tryed to adjust the confergence them selfs. Not only did it cost a bundle to realighn the gentleman need to go to the hospital as i results of touching a spot on the chassis that he shouldnt have and gave him a shock that threw him across the room. My advice, unless you have convergence experience is to invest in a service person to come out to your home and adjust it for you. I would try first an authorized repair center as they should have all the tools and secrits to the convergence in that set. And Please without electronic experience, even an unplugged set can harm ya. Good luck Try the # and the link 800) 252-5722 or proinfo@jvc.com
