I have an Intellinet Router #52343. I just got a new laptop computer. I need help "syncronizing" the router & laptop so that I can connect to the internet Wireless.
Firstly you need to hard wire your internet line to your router and then your router to your pc. You cant really set it up unless they are "connected" physically. You need the SSID information and if you are going to be secure you need to set up a secret key/password key/secret phrase that each computer will have to have in order for the two devices to do the handshake and understand each other. Your security should be WEP, WPA, WPA2. Once hard wired you need to start an internet session and put the IP address of the router management console into your browser ie http://192.168.0.1 (refer to your manual for this and the admin password needed to access the console) Once in here you set your security type WEP etc and your secret key. (Think of this as your password/passphrase) On your pc you need to set your wireless networking device to have the same information. Then you can work wirelessly as long as all devices have the same information. There is no substitute for reading the book for this one though.
