This could any number of things. Depends how long it is before it turns off. If it turns off after 20 minutes or so you need to go into control panel and check your power settings. Your system maybe going into standby or hibernate. You dont say whether you can get it to restart easily and what you have to do to get it to do so. If it shuts down almost immediately you may have a hardware fault and windows may be protecting the hardware itself from overheating. You may have a virus/s. To be on the safe side make sure you give it a proper system AV scan.

If there are no error logs, seems to be a hardware problem.
Could be the monitor or the video card.
Try updating the video drivers and BIOS from the Acer website.

Pc keeps turning itself off

I would suggest you first disconnect the computer and give it a good cleaning inside. It may just have so much dust inside that it is overheating. Here are detailed instructions on how to do it. http://www.directron.com/cleaning.html

Restore failed reason 0xa000000c.

this error is referring to a bad MBR (Master Boot Record)
which basically means that you will need to take steps to either recovery the master boot record or restore your computer using the the recovery disk.
Apparently acer has a partition specifically for recovery.
did you repartition your hard drive?

Try Booting and pressing ALT F10 and that may take you to a recovery console.

I have an Acer Aspire 5040..I always have my plugged in..and when I take it off, i only have like 15 minutes and then my laptop needs to be plugged again.. any reason why? and how to change that? are there...

Your battery has gone bad. You just need to purchase another battery. When you get it in, charge it completely first and you'll find that you'll have your original time left.

It can be purchased here.

I have acer aspire 5040 Laptop computer and when i start it up it won't boot into windows as it has light blue screen and asks me to press F1 and shows resource Conflict pci on motherboard Bus 06 Device 06...

Re-install windows, then it will ask you for the Restore disk 1 then 2 then 3. I think the Ghost that is factory installed is a fars.
If it doesnt ask you for the Restore disks - just stick # 1 in and she'll tale over from there and re-write the Ghost issue again ...
I did that same for my Boss's 5040 last week. Dont forget to go into the Bios and reset the Boot sequense to CD Rom, and then
change the Booting sequense back after the restore has taken place.

Give it a shot Bud.
