Getting songs from the sd card to show on my phone
Hiya, I have put songs onto my micro sd card and tried it in a friends phone which shows everything I have put on their, however, when I put the card into my LG shine and try to access the songs on the external memory-nothing is on their!
Am I meant to be doing something different when downlading or afterwards?

To find your music on the SD, go to my stuff, sounds, external memory, mp3 and you should see your music. Playing it, however is another matter. You can play only one song. Then you have to manually play the next one. Not what I'd call an MP3 player.

There are a few tricks, such as formatting the SD card in the phone first, to create the special media folders; deleting the finger print file; playing the files in vcard on the phone.
Also, if the mp3 files come from iTunes and were purchased from the internet, they may be encrypted so they can only be played on the computer they were purchesed from - they will need to be burned to CD, then ripped back (removes the security, and some sound quality loss?), or use a special purchased tool to remove the security (there are tools out there, I just haven't bought/used any of them).
go to att music and go to music player hit all songs. it will update the library and show the songs from your card, you can play them from here but i don't believe you can use them as ring tones from here.
No, Im Sorry But Adaptors Are Incapable Of Holding Memory, And You Shouldn't Take Out The Micro SD Before You Remove The SD Card, You Should Also Try Putting In The Micro SD Card And Going To Tools And Enter Into The Memory Option And Selecting Card, Then Using The Options Button Format It, Then Put It Back Into You Computer And Save All Your Songs To The Folder Named my_music This Should Work, And Just So You Know The Phone Will Not Play All Of The Songs That You Put On It For Some Reason, Its Some Formatting Conflict The Songs Can Be In .wma Format Or .mp3 not .mp4 or any other types.
Ok, I figured it out. Well, ok, maybe I didn't figure it out, but I did solve the problem -- by making sure everything on the SD card was backed up, and then reformatting it. Then I put all my MP3's back into the "my_music" folder on the card, and it all showed up on the phone -- finally!
