Iomega does do out of warranty repair.. BUT it seems to take them for ever...

If it no longer works because you had it for 3 years, then you know the solution: Never keep an Xbox for longer than 2.9999 years.
If there's a hard drive inside, this could be seized due to lack of use. Grab the Xbox on opposite corners, and as violently as you can, rotate the case back and forth in the plane that the hard drive is mounted in. This action may loosen the drive's platters. I'm just guessing. Do lights come on when plugged in or does it look dead?

Sylvania net book doesn't see available wireless


If it's not seeing wifi networks, more than likely, there is something wrong with the adapter. Try these steps:
1.) Look for a WIFI switch on the side or front of your laptop and make sure it is set to the ON position. 2.) Check Device Manager to make sure the driver is installed and working. If it's not, uninstall and reinstall. 3.) Go into Network Connections and make sure the Wireless Connection is set to Enable. 4.) If none of that works, perform a System Restore to a time when everything was working. 5.) If this doesn't work, you need a WIFI adapter replacement.

Whirlpool Wall Unit Double -oven. Part # 4451887 REV. C Control Panel doesn't work. Interior lights come on and the oven constantly beeps. We have been waiting for a replacement part for 4 months.


I have the same problem with the same part and was told by AppliancePartPros that the Control Panel would not be available to them until Feb 2012. I noticed a discoloration near a power transister and the big power resister next door (installed with about a 1/2 inch clearance to the PCB board, labeled R188 on my REV A board). The solder connections from the R188 resister to the PCB were cracked. That resister was hot when I touched it and the thermal cycling probably cracked the solder joints after 9 years. I am going to resolder those connections tomorrow and see if that resolves the problem. Do you see any burn marks near that Power transister (3 lead black package with a metal heat sink on its back (the heat sink has a circular hole above the black plastic package)?

Since your unit is an AC and Gas unit, you need to find out if it works on gas in order to make a good diagnosis.

But from your description, it sounds like your DC power is not at the unit.

Water not getting hot


If the machine is over 5 years old, I would put money on it being the heater element. If you can get the back off the machine, they are actually very easy to change, usually held in place by 2 nuts, and the part will be available on the net or from your local repair shop

I have a firelite model USBFLB40-C it was working fine yesterday but today I can't access it. The light blinks but my computer nor two other computers recogize it. I have about 15 GB of information I need...


Hi Terry,

We can definitely help you with this issue. If the drive has been tested on more than one computer you have already finished the first diagnostic for us. The next step is to remove the harddrive from the enclosure and install it in a new enclosure as this is the next most likely solution.

If you do not have the skill/tools to safely perform the operation pop into your local PC shop and ask one of the technicians to move the old 40GB drive into a new enclosure for you to test if the drive is working. If it is working in the new enclosure buy it and be on your way. I would also suggest buying a new external as 40GB drive must be at least 3-4 years old and mean time to failure averages 5 years.

If they test the drive and it doesn't work in the new enclosure, reply back with your Country, State and City and I will refer you to an appropriate pro who can recover the data for you.

Have you checked the speed sensing unit that is attached to the transmission? Take her out and see if it's damaged or not or to see if there are any nicked wires

TPS Window Appears on Print Shop® Splash Screen Description Solution When attempting to open Print Shop® 20, a TPS window opens on the Print Shop® splash screen. The only option available in the small TPS window is to click OK. This issue occurs when Microsoft® .NET Framework 1.1 has been uninstalled. Reinstalling Microsoft® .NET Framework 1.1 will resolve this issue. View the remainder of this technical note for the instructions. Complete these steps:
  1. Close all windows and programs and return to the desktop.

    NOTE: If the TPS window is still open on the desktop, click OK. The Print Shop® splash screen will close.

  2. Insert the Print Shop® 20 DVD or Install CD into the proper drive.
  3. Double-click the My Computer icon. For Windows® XP, click Start and click My Computer.
  4. Right-click the CD/DVD icon that represents the drive where the disc was placed and click Open. The contents of the disc will display.
  5. Double-click the Setup folder.
  6. Double-click 1033dotnetfx.exe. The installation of Microsoft® .NET Framework 1.1 will begin.

My Iomega Screenplay 500 isn't working


Your Iomaga Hard Drive is broken. The clicking noise is the heads ggrinding off the palate and this problem can not be fixed. If your player is less then 1 year old it is guarenteed and should be replaced. Otherwise, it the hard drive inside needs to be replaced!
