Question about Apple iPhone Smartphone
The camera in my iphone doesn't work, i click the icon and it opens and closes inmediately.
I had a problem with my iPhone camera earlier today. I held the on off button and the control button under the space bar. It shut down. I left it off for a couple of minutes then turned it back on. (pressed and held power button a second). All was well. Hope this works for you. Best to you. Jimmy

The only way to fix this is to do the following:
-Install SBSettings form Cydia -Open SBSettings by sliding your finger across the top bar (where the time and carrier logo is) from left to right. -go to More (bottom left) -Then to Extras & options -Touch Fix User Dir Permissions -Finally, reboot iPhone/ iPod and your camera will work correctly.

It starts working when you delete all the pics off ur iphone from pc. but thing is, i don't wanna do that. i wanna keep my pics so that i can show them to my friends. it is definitely a bug needs to be fixed.

I had the same problem. i just brought my iphone back to the apple store today and they replaced it for free. but when i went home to take more pictures after plugging my iphone into my computer, the same thing happened. so if it is something with itunes, then thank you, flo, for your solution! much appreciated!

my iPhone now works again but i had to use the restore function with iTunes.
The camara works fine when you dont't let iTunes setup your backup. So you have to choose the "configure new iPhone"-option after the restore.
you'll loose your sms, contact favorites, web favorites, mail settings and the webapps etc...
i talked with the iPhone support in germany a lot and they said they'd do nothing other but flashing the phone and installing a new software. all you data would be lost neither.
hope I could help
sorry for my english
and greetings from Munich/Bavaria/Germany :-)

Tips for a great answer:
Sep 15, 2014 | Apple iPhone 5
Jun 30, 2011 | Apple iPhone 3G
Jun 13, 2011 | Apple iPhone Smartphone
1. Go to My Computer >> Manage and click Device Manager in the left tab.
2. Click Portable Devices >> Apple iPhone >> Uninstall
3. Unplug and plug your iPhone, now wait for windows to re recognize your iphone [ In Device Manager, you will see the new recognized Apple Iphone ]
4. Press F5 to refresh your windows explorer and your Apple iPhone will show up with a camera icon.
If for some reason none of the above methods work, but you want to copy camera taken pictures but there was no way to do it.
Follow the procedure to do the same, make sure that your iphone is connected to your computer with iphone data cable
1. Download DiskAid which is a free iPhone Explorer [ Lets you explore your iphone files and folder ]
2. Install and Run DiskAid it will automatically detect iphone and navigate to the camera photos folder on your iphone
root >> var >> mobile >> media >> DCIM >> 100APPLE or XXXAPPLE folder.
( as shown in the image below )
( click the image above to enlarge )
3. Right click any image and select Copy to PC and select a folder to copy these images, that's it . This way you can copy the images from iphone camera roll folder when you iphone does not show in my computer.
Hope this helps.
