Navigation won't navigate!

Every time I try to get it to tell me the directions to a location I get a message saying "Voice guidance not available in this area." I have tried turning the guidance off, mute, on, everything...I can't get it to work. I tried ejecting the dvd hoping that would reset it, but it still gives me the same message. What can I try? Thanks!!

Make sure that you have the speed sense wire (VSS) hooked up. I had the same problem with mine. Hooked up the VSS and it has been great ! Good luck

Are you using a copied disc or an original article? With some burned disc you will loose alot of the functions because the map is on the first layer and the functions are encoded in the second layer. Let me know.

How do i get the navigation to work

"Navigation ready" probably means you can add an expensive navigation module later on. Its probably not worth it (expensive I think), but maybe if you don't have a smart phone or anything else. Might be able to find cheaper places to buy like ebay. Check this site for details: http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/

AVIC-N1 wont read navigation disc

If your error message is reading "insert appropriate disk" or "inappropriate disk inserted" than I have the solution. Can you just let me know exactly what the message is?

Bad Navigation

Try pressing the red/white little arrow looking buttons on the bottom right, that' flips the screen.

If all of the other speakers work properly, it is because that is the way you have it configured. Go into setup and change the configuration. For instance, the bluetooth phone speaker is set up for the right front speaker by default so as to not get a feedback loop with the microphone.

Hi, You set the screen so its all the way down and hold down the dvd eject then the reset button for a few seconds, then let off of the reset button, keep the eject button held down for another few seconds. Then the screen will say press reset. instead using the joystick, press up,up,down, down then push it in at the center. It will come up with options. the first one is touch screen test. using the joystick click on that one and do the calibration test. You will then have to trace the outline of the screen, while you are on the right side of it, trace it short to make up for the buttons on the right side. when you finish push the joystick in. it will say "settings ok" then go down to the 4th one, i think, and it will say something like test calibration settings and go to that one. It should say that the settings were saved. After that shut the key off and turn it back on and it should be good to go.
