Question about Gateway FPD2275W LCD Monitor

1 Answer

Brother monitor Picked up a 12" Brother CT-1050 monitor at a thrift shop, but discovered that the signal cable appears to have a regular 9 pin serial connector vice VGA. Can't find any documentation on the monitor (found your site in the search process). It's only manuf 10 yrs ago. Could it be a non-graphic text-only monitor. Do you have any ideas on the manual search?

The DB15 VGA (Video Graphics Array) connector contains however 15 pins in three rows of 5 pins each. These five pins carry the color and synchronisation signals, also a digital I2C interface for two-way communication between the video controller and monitor. The common 15-pin VGA connector found on most video cards, computer monitors, high definition televisions which support VGA connections. The following schematic diagram and table shows respectively connector and pin assignment of DB15 VGA.

Only have one serial port on my cpu can the monitor plug be switched

there could be another port for the monitor to use a VGA cable. check and see if your computer is capable of VGA from the port of the back of the computer and if it is. use a VGA cable to connect the computer to the monitor.
