Hello martin, first off is the car moving while vibrating or stopped?can you give me a few more clues so maybe i can help. I also have an 97 corolla. If the vehicle is vibrating sitting still its something probably in the motor shaking,if its doing it while moving it could be just a low tire or bad tire or wheel ? send me some more information and i`ll try to help you out if i can, I`m (BILL)
This may sound radical, but while driving on an open road with no traffic, put the car in neutral and turn the motor off. If the sound goes away, the problem is in the motor or trans. If the problem persists, its probably a wheel bearing or something stuck in your wheel. Car will restart in neutral, and just drop it back into drive.
open the hood have someone u trust sit in the car and put it in drive holding the break with it in gear tap the throttle quick if the engine looks like it wants to jump out its a mount issue granted it will move about 3-4 inches if there ok anything more you have a problem try it in both (D) and (R)
Check all vacuum hoses for leaks and good connection. clean mass air flow sensor internal sensor wires with carb cleaner and a Q-tip. One or both may help. If not, have a code scan done and see what comes up!
Well to tell you the truth with so many sensors you need to put the car on a scanner to fix the problem. You dont want to be changing part after part and not fix it,can get expensive.Get it scanned pay 40 to 70 dllrs get a report and you can change the part. But open you hood and look around it can even be a vacum line.Good luck.I can guide you thru changing the part.
