I have a dell inspiron desk top. i have no display and the computer beeps four times, pauses and beeps four more times.

The beeps are post during post the very first work is done by the ram,all the memory in the ram is first transferred to the hard disk, and remains active untill turned off.

make sure that your RAM modules and Cmos battery are securely seated

on some motherboards Cmos batteries are soldered in

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty

if its a flat 40 pin ide it will be the first to fail

check the graphics card is seated properly with no dust in the socket you might have to remove it to check for dust reinstall it

restart your computer the found new hardware wizard should activate

a computer needs power and data to travel through every working device and to its continue its cycle and to have and end to function

make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure make sure the connections and are not faulty even the electrical extensions or just replace them they could be faulty
a computer needs all electric current and computer data to travel to and through every working device and have an end to work properly click start right click on my computer so any faulty leads will end up with a computer error

hope this helps

Can I hook up the Bose Companion 2 series speakers to my HDTV and get acceptable sound?

Hi,
Well if you currently find the sound of the Bose acceptable and your inbuilt HD TV speakers poor, then the answer is yes. Should you not like the sound of the Bose, plugging them into an HD TV won't make them sound any better :-)

Just use the headphone out of your HD TV to connect. You may find you need to enable the headphone socket/volume via the menu settings on your HD TV

My dell is about 2 years old..and we have never connected the speakers to the monitor...well I think thats where they go The speakers are attached to the bottom of monitor. There is ONE short cord that...

Some LCD monitors have built-in speakers.
Run a 3.5 millimeter stereo-cable from the "line-in" socket on the monitor to the GREEN coloured "line-out" socket on your computer's sound-card.

Or, connect the speakers to that same GREEN "line-out" socket.

My subwoofer IC got burned because i accidentally plug it to a 220v power supply, mine is only 110v i want to know the IC# subwoofer.

Most likely what got burnt is the bridge rectifier in the power supply section of the electronic circuit. This usually takes the shape of either a single 4-legged IC, or a group of 4 rectifying diodes connected in a bridge configuration. If you disassemble the unit to which the power cord is attached & trace the circuit starting from the terminals of the power chord, you can easily identify it. You will need to replace the 4-legged IC or the 4 rectifying diodes.
You will also need to replace the fuse, since it is usually likely that it gets burnt if the unit is attached to 220V instead of 110V.

Center/subwoofer speaker out...mixed

Hi all, I also purchased a logitech x-540 a few days ago and also have the center speaker outputting sound when i test or play the subwoofer. I didn't think this is normal and am now confused. Maybe its a problem with the audio drivers? MB is a ASUS P6T Deluxe V2 with Soundmax drivers. Hopefully someone can help to diagnose/ find a soluytion.

No sound on macbook

That's a problem with the sound card. Had the same issue on a new MB and called Apple. Ended up sending the MB and Apple replaced the sound card and it has been working well since.

The mysterious motherboard

You could possibly have a problem with the switch on the actual case. What you can try to prove this is trace to the motherboard fro the front panel the wires for the switch. Remove the connection off the motherboard and using a small flat screwdriver "short" the connection for those 2 pins. If the system then starts up you know you have a bad switch.

On another note the keyboard port could have caused the board to suffer "damage". I have experieced (25 years of this) keyboards stopping a system from booting. They would power up but never get to POST.

Is this motherboard the same that we are working on for the sound driver?
