Question about Philips Magnavox 51MP392H Rear Projection Television
ABOUT THREE YEAR OLD SET JUST STARTED , THE PICTURE IS SMALLER IN THE MIDDLE THAN ON EDGE , ANY ADJUSTMENT I CAN TRY?---THANKS
Hi there I hope you already have a solution. If not here's what I did to the same model set. I replaced 2 STK392-120 Chips and all 12 6.8 5% metal film resistors. Was about a 1 hour fix from start to finish.
the parts are located on the SSM panel inside the tv.

There is a mode these set run in that stretches the side so the screen is completely filled, this is so the people do not seem all fat and short, this mode is known as Panoramic, this is one of the screen settings you can choose, I believe your set has a 4X5 or normal mode, 16X9 and maby a 16X9 zoom, the panoramic and maybe one more, find the format button on the remote and cycle through them
