Question about Hitachi 60SBX78B 60" Rear Projection Television

Vertical rolling on Hitachi 60SBX78B

The picture is rolling on the screen. The manual says to "try another channel" or "check for local interference." We have Verizon Fios through a DVR machine - no local interference. This TV is 10 years old. On older TV's I remember a know we turned to stop horizontal lines rolling vertically. Is there anything to be done with this TV or is it a goner?

It ended up being the Verizon Fios box. We recycled it and the picture stopped rolling. Thank you for being here to help. If I have any future questions, I'll definitely use your site.

I need a new remote control #CLU-613MP for my Hitachi TV model no. 60SBX78B.

Hey there, You'll have to contact the Hitachi local customer care and order a replacement. It won't be that much of a cost, maybe around $20 or so.

Vertical rolling of picture

If the picture rolls while both on cable as well as when you playback a tape or DVD, it could be caused by a bad filter capacitor in the power supply or vertical deflection circuits. If it only rolls while trying to view a picture from a cable/satellite box, then that component is likely at fault.

Thin vertical line

What you have described is definitely some form of Electrical Interference. Interference can come from a variety of causes. Is the Cable Inputting the Cable Box close to some High Voltage Electrical Lines? Or Are you located near some Electrical Power Station? Or A Police station, where the Radio Transmitter of the Police Station causing the Interference? As I said, there are a variety of reasons. Also, Try to check if the connector is loose at the rear of the Cable Box, or at the rear of the TV. You will have to eliminate every possibility reason. Wish i could help further.
