Lines on prints

Epson 1290 inkjet printer.
I'm getting magenta lines on my prints. I have done the utility checks, heads cleaned, checked the nozzles and checked head alignment to no avail.

I am getting magenta and cyan lines on my prints - just where colour areas are.
Have done the nozzle checks and head cleaning.
They even appear v slightly, when you specify printing in black only.
Have cleaned contacts at the back of the cartridges.
    Any ideas?

Hi kids! I decided to have another go at sorting out my 'lines' problem and have sorted it. See if this might work for you: I had previously done the head cleaning via the printer itself - holding the central ink/paper black button for 3 secs. This time I went to the Epson 1290 window on my Mac and clicked on the utility box. Though the Nozzle check print came out fine I went ahead and did the head cleaning in this box. The next print came out almost perfect so I ran the Head cleaning again and it printed a perfect print. Hope this might work for you. Keep on trying! All the best. Trant

My Epson 1290s is printing with lines running through, less than a centimetre apart. the lines are always in colour, and even occur on black and white printing. the lines always appear to be magenta.

Go to your printer settings and navigate to the "Maintenance" options. Run the options for alignment and nozzle checks. If this does not work, the print heads may need to be cleaned, especially if the printer has not been used for a while. You will have to remove the ink heads and use alcohol to clean them if you feel comfortable doing so. Otherwise, it may be cheaper just to go out and buy a new printer if the print heads are defective.

Lots of tiny white horizontal lines on the printed picture.

Run a nozzle check. If there are gaps do head cleaning. When printing pictures it best to set the setting to best photo to get good print outs.
Goodluck.

Stylus Photo 820 printing magenta lines

did you clean the communication ports , where the cartridges "talk" to the printer, the ports can get covered with paper dust and erronus signals can cause the printer to activate the magenta cartridge causing your problem. reomve the cartridges and Gently clean the comm ports with a q-tip and rubbing alcohol let dry then reinstall the ink cartridges.

run or performa maintenance page..

Perform a nozzle check page.
- Make sure that the printer is turned off.
- Hold down the maintenance button and press the power button to turn on the printer. Release only the power button first. When the nozzle check starts, release the maintenance button.

pls let me know if it solve the problem..

Blue lines all over the printing

Did u clean the print nozzle's as well? If that does not solve your problem, you should try and replace the cartridge. (Colour in case of blue lines and black in case of black lines)
