System doesn't see my graphics card

I recently built up a system with a configuration as: AMD Athlon 64 Dual Core 2.2 , Biostar T-770 A+ motherboard, 2 GB Ram and the graphics card as ASUS EN8600-GT. After first installation of Windows(which is Home Edition), i can install the graphics card and its drivers without a problem. However, when i shut down the computer(and go to sleep eventually :P) and turn it on again the other day, the system dont recognize the graphics card, and goes onto "VgaSafe" mode instead...why does it happen? Please help guys.....

Possibly check your bios to see if you have set PC to start in VGA mode. Can you see the correct graphics card in the device manager? If you can it is probably the bios.

Can MSI MS-6380E support radeon x1800?

http://www.legendmicro.com/store/2940_MSI-MS-6380E-010-KT3-Ultra-Socket-A-Socket-462-for-AMD-Athlon-XPDuron-Processor.lmsp

1) Motherboard uses a Socket A processor socket. Also known as Socket 462.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socket_A

When they switched from the Athlon single-core processors, to the Athlon 64-bit dual-core processors, they went to a completely different processor socket.

AM2,

So using the MSI MS-6380E motherboard with a dual core AMD processor = NO.

I don't seem to find an AMD Athlon 64 X2 1.8GigaHertz processor, except for a mobile version. One used for a laptop in otherwords,

Uses a Socket S1 mobile processor socket,

List of AMD Athlon 64 microprocessors,

Pretend like I'm from Missouri, and Show Me.

Find the processor by it's AMD part number, and post the URL of the website in a Comment.

http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Athlon-Venice-Single-Core-Processor/dp/B003RXLMCC

AMD Athlon 64 3000+
SINGLE-core processor, not X2.
(Socket 939 processor socket, too)

Show me the Processor, and then we can go on.

How Do I unlock CPU cores with Bios on MCP61M-M3 motherboard?

The motherboard supports AMD socket AM2 single-core Athlon 64/ Sempron and dual-core Athlon 64 X2/ Athlon 64 FX processors with 2MB / 1MB / 512KB L2 cache, which is based on 64-bit architecture. It features 2000 / 1600 MT/s Hyper Transport Bus, dual-channel un-buffered DDR2 800 memory support and AMD Cool 'n' Quiet! Technology.

The BIOS changes it on it's own when add a dual core.

Here is the PDF file on this board. Chapter 2 explains the Bios.

Intel Pentium Dual Core and AMD Athlon 64 X2 processors

I'd advise don't start thinking below E2180. As per the performance go, E2180 and AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ are almost same but E2180 runs cooler. If you are going to use dedicated graphics card, go for E2180 and if you want a CPU for Integrated Graphics go for AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ because most of the 780G/790X chip-based AMD-compatible boards offer superior IGP.

Biostar 770 A+ motherboard problem.

Hello!

Sounds like your motherboard isn't getting power...
26d7cc5.jpg
I suggest you check that you have both the 24pin ATX connector (upper center) and the 4 pin P4 (upper right) connected. If your PSU does not have a 24pin but only 20pin connector I suggest you find a proper PSU and test with that.
It's very unlikely for a new motherboard and/or CPU to be not functioning.

Hope this helps!
