Question about Microwave Ovens
If the microwave works fine it is most likely two interior panels or exterior panels touching. See if you can locate an area stops the buzzing when you push on it. Mine buzzed very loud at start up and I ended up solving it with a small piece of insulation between the outer case and the front bezel. I like the zero dollar fixes.

Im having the same problem with my one year old Spacemaker. Harsh buzzing sound when heating. Though everything works well. I took the grill off the front of the unit that sits over the door, and turned it on --- no buzzing noise. I put it back on and tightened it down with the three screws that attach it --- buzzing noise back again. Not sure what the solution is. The grille part seems fine.

You should keep it unplugged until it's fixed. If it's cooking while it should be off, that can damage the oven or even start a fire.
It's either a failed door switch or door switch mount, or a bad electrolytic capacitor on the control board, which we can repair for $39.95.
If you're hearing a fan or motor running, I'd suspect the switch. See this file for help.
If it's a buzz (like a power line buzz) then I'd suspect the board capacitor.
Feel free to contact me directly (and please include your full model number from the tag in or on the unit) for more help.

Magnetron is done. This part heats the food. GE microwaves tend to have them stop working quite frequently. They basically make up the majority of the cost of the microwave, so instead of replacing the magnetron, you would be better off getting a new microwave.
