Having exact same problem. Error reads Supply Rec. Paper Tray : LTR but I am in Europe and we use A4 paper size here (and not Letter)...

Tried everything. Alarm will not clear.

Canon help line in PORTUGAL not available to take calls for the last 45 mins.....

I wonder how this is going to turn out! Maybe should have gone with HP or something .

I have the same problem. There are plastic sensor tabs either on the tray or or the tray housing of the printer. They are flimsy and sometimes prevent or get in the way of re-loading of paper tray and break off. Lack of this tab touching the sensor makes printer incorrectly think the unit is out of paper. very poor design.

Open lest cover - there you will find two sensor - one for Manuel freed sensor and other one is tray paper sensor . Flip the paper tray sensor straight up and put the electric tape permanently. Now your printer will know that you have paper even if you do not have . this is a temporary solution.
thanks

Check paper size
If it is ok go to print job cancel and cancel all jobs
if the error comes while computer connected printing
before click ok go to peinter properties and change input paper size to A4 and out put as match paper size then click ok .

One possible solution that seems to work for me is to open the front cover and close it again. Even if you did not need to access this part of the printer.

A temporary fix is to manually feed paper, one sheet at a time, through the front. I think my long-term solution is going to be buying a new unit.

Hi,
if the error is change paper size also, under printer properties set the paper size i.e. A4, by default its ltr and these can cause problems. After that turn off and on.

Machine won't print, copy or receive a fax

With red button stop the copy, or switch off and on.

If you print on this unit make sure that you did choose a right format of paper (A4,A5,...)

You can change the format ap printer properties or preferences

Supply Rec. Paper tray will not clear even with a whole ****

Ok try this - switch the machine off at the mains, empty the paper tray. Push the paper tray back in and switch on the machine with no paper in it. When it's finished warming up it should tell you the tray is empty. Then put paper in. This will usually clear it.

"Supply Rec. Paper Tray : LTR"

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.
Hope this helps. Bud

Msg:supply rec paper

Ya, I had that same problem too; I was printing something that was over printing margins, and then i had the message "supply rec. paper......" on the lcd screen. I ended up fixing the problem by clearing/canceling all the documents i was printing on my computer, and clearing/canceling all the documents saved inside the MEMORY OF THE PRINTER (note the green light with the "memory, in use" which means it's probably still trying to print the document that's too big, so it wont print anything else). (<--- not sure if that was your problem, but it was mine)

Anyways, to clear the memory inside the printer, i pressed the "status monitor" button located to the left of the "B&W start" button, and then i scrolled over to "print status, select job to cancel" and canceled all jobs, and then once i canceled all jobs, the alarm disappeared, and it was fixed XD

Won't feed the paper

the problem with your machine maybe that the default paper size programmed into your machine. My guess is that it is set to legal size{ 81/2x14} Get your owners manual out and see how to program the paper size in the user settings sections.
