Question about Microtek SCANMAKER 5900 Flatbed Scanner

Can't uninstall microtek 5900 scanner

I started the uninstall process but it was interrupted. when I returned to the uninstall process it would not go to completion. Microtek support gave instructions to commplete the process (go to windows registry and delete "microtek, scan wizard and scan suite". I followed instructions to the "T". However, when I open and another
scanner on my system, I get the error message "scan wizard 5 is incomplete, please reinstall scanwizard 5". This error message is a distraction and surely slows down the processes on my computer. I am at wits end, PLEASE

    I am no longer using my Microtek scanner and want to remove Scan Wizard 5 because I keep getting the same message: Scan Wizard 5 is incomplete. I no longer have the software and cannot get it uninstalled from my computer. Help! I can't find Scan Wizard or Microtek in my list of programs to uninstall. I am using Window XP.

    all efforts did not solve the problem - every time i start the new (hp) scanner - the message. " scanwizard 5 is incomplete. please re-install Scanwizard 5"

    I cleaned the reg - no change. the scanwizard support is useless. please help

This is a funny problem. Try & locate SCanwizard 5 files and delete them. Complete the registry deletion as suggested. Run scandisk. Install and uninstall Scanwizard 5.

Code 3 The driver for this device might be corrupted, or your system may be running low on memory or other resources. (Code 3)

Here are some things that you can try to resolve this problem.

Close some open applications

If the computer has insufficient memory to run the device, you can close some applications to make memory available. You can also check memory and system resources, and the virtual memory settings.
  • To check memory and system resources, open Task Manager. To open Task Manager, press CTRL+ALT+DELETE, and then click Task Manager.
  • To check virtual memory settings, right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Advanced tab, and then click Settings in the Performance area.
Uninstall and reinstall the driver

The device driver may have become corrupted. If the driver is corrupted, uninstall the driver from Device Manager and scan for new hardware to install the driver again.

You may be prompted to provide the path of the driver. Windows may have the driver built-in, or may still have the driver files installed from the last time that you set up the device. However, sometimes, it will open the New Hardware Wizard which may ask for the driver. If you are asked for the driver and you do not have it, you can try to download the latest driver from the hardware vendor’s Web site.
  1. On the device Properties dialog box, click the Driver tab, and then click Uninstall. Follow the instructions.
  2. Restart your computer.
  3. Open Device Manager, click Action, and then click Scan for hardware changes. Follow the instructions.
Install additional RAM

You may have to install additional random access memory (RAM).

My microtek 5900 scanmaker needs new drivers for Vista 64bit OS

I use Vista 64X . And ScanWizard 6.61 ( From Scanmaker 5950, i have 5900) works ok in photoshop.

Have you tried Microtek's website? I just downloaded drivers for a 5900.

Are you ussing it witha Mac? I could not make this scanner work on System 10.4.x. Had to download software from Microtek and use it with system 10.3.x but it works better with Classic System 9.2 The light stops blinking when used with the older systems and the scanner arm moves. My problem is that the light does not come on.
