Router/power light constantly flashing cannot make any connection to computer

  • Anonymous Mar 10, 2010

The router is not booting at all, and the reset button has no effect. I am returning the unit to the shop for replacement/refund. It is very rare that a unit is faulty straight out of the box. Thanks anyway.

They replaced the router, and it fired up within seconds. Setup only took a few minutes. working fine.

Try to reset the router. On the router you will find the reset button. press it and hold it down for 30 seconds. release the reset after 30 seconds. wait for 1 minute. unplug the power and plug it back in. wait for 1 minute and check if the power light stays solid.
If not then try to reset the router again.
check if the power light stays solid.
check the IP address on the computer. If you are getting a valid IP address then try to open the set up page of the router.
If you are not getting the valid IP address and power light is not solid then I think you will need a new router.

SOURCE: losing connection constantly

Is the power light on the BEFSR41 router flashing ?
If it is flashing then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router. If possible download the Firmware of the router and
open the set up page of the router , upgrade the firmware.
After upgrading the firmware reset and reconfigure the router. Reduce the MTU settings on the router to 1400.
Click Here for more info about how to open the set up page and other networking info.

SOURCE: Linksys WRT350N Connection Problem and Power Light Flashing.

Are you trying to set up the router ? For this you don't need to use Linksys Easy link advisor. Easy links advisor has bugs in it. If you call the Linksys tech support, they will also not help you for Easy link advisor. All you need to do is, open the router set up page and check the settings of the router. according to the settings on the router, you can connect the new device to the network. is ther any computer connected to the router? use that cmputer to open the router set up page.

WHAT LIGHTS ON LINKSYS ARE SUPPOSED TO BE BLINKING

Note that incoming traffic will cause the WAN (or Internet) light to blink even if it is 'probe' traffic trying to break in to your network. Such traffic is to be expected and is the reason you have firewall functionality in your gateway router.

On the inside, there is a bit of traffic on any LAN when the computers are turned on. Messages generated by the router itself are used to find computers and printers for a lot of different legitimate reasons.

My Dlink router lights just flash constantly and never stop, its the dlink logo and all four lan lines flash but the power light doesn't come on and niether does the internet symbol

Not a good sign. Have you tried resetting? You'll find a reset 'hole' on back of router. Press and hold with a pin for 15 seconds or until lights go out and come back on. Upon resetting, you will need to reconfigure. Disconnect sat/cable modem while doing this. Use the passcode and admin URL address on bottom/back of router to get to configuration. Should also power off modem and power back on when done configuring to reset the Internet connection.
Please re-post if you need help with configuring the router.

My D-Link DIR-625 is constantly toggling between conencted/&not

it's possible, i would try moving the computer to a diferent prot on the router and also pluging in a diferent computer, you could also have a bad cable. if it won't work with another cable on another computer then you will probably have to buy a new router. if it works with another computer you will probably need to replace your pc's network card. (though i would try reinstalling the driver first.)
