SOURCE: Email set up problems

from the data you have given, me, it sounds like you are using Either Outlook, or the bundled Windows Mail service.
What is happening, is that an email your program is trying to send, an email with "test" in the subject line, but is unable to because it cannot connect to the server. looking at the string, I see several problems. make sure your settings are configured a mentioned below:

  • Incoming Mail (POP3) Server: plus.pop.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 995)
  • Outgoing (SMTP) Server: plus.smtp.mail.yahoo.com (Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication)
  • Account Name/Login Name: your Yahoo! ID (your email address without the "@yahoo.com")
  • Email Address: your Yahoo! Mail address (e.g., [email protected])
If this doesn't resolve your problem, refer to this page for more information. (Note: if you do not subscribe and pay in to a "Yahoo Plus" plan, this could also pose a problem, as Yahoo does not allow you to use third-party email programs with their "free" service, as they like to restrict it to webmail only. If you want a free email service that *does* however, I strongly suggest you check out google's Gmail service [what I use])

Hello, I have a palm treo pro and I do not receive instant email from my following sites: yahoo, or hotmail. also, how can my phone alert me when receiving email. thank you Phil

Email can be either fetched (via IMAP or POP) or pushed (Exchange). If you want instant notifications, you will have to setup your email account on the phone via an exchange server. As far as I know, Yahoo doesn't do this. For hotmail try the following:
Email Address: Your full email address Username: Your full email address Password: Your email password Server: m.hotmail.com Domain: leave blank

I get this message on my computer that says 'Your Microsoft Exchange Server is Unavailable." How do I make it available?

By the sounds of it you are using Outlook 2007 or 2010
to download your email from sites like hotmail and Yahoo you need POP3 not Exchange. Exchange is a Microsoft Email server used by companies.

to remove the exchange section in outlook you need to go to the "Configuration Panel" then click on "Mail" in there you will have a profile called "Outlook" click on "Email acounts" and remove the item that says "Exchange" then click "Add " tick the box "Manually selct settings" select POP3 and add the details for your email as per their instructions

Hi, I m really sorry to say that but you have a Server Product and its built to run Windows Server Series on it (or Linux / Novell Netware).
This is the list of compatible Server list
Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Microsoft Windows Server 2003 for 64-bit Extended Systems Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Essential Business Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Foundation Edition Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 Small Business Microsoft Windows Server 2008 W32 Microsoft Windows Server 2008 x64 Novell NetWare 6.5 Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (AMD64/EM64T) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 (x86) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server (x86) Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 Server (x86-64) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (AMD64/EM64T) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 (x86) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (AMD64/EM64T) SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 9 (x86)
Here is the link for Drivers
Try to use the Driver for Windows 2003.
It has a Matrox VGA as I know. If you know which Matrox series you have, then Browse here for the Drives: Matrox Graphics Support. Make sure that you choose the Exact Driver software which suites the System.
Note: Not every product has the Driver Software for Windows XP.

hi friend,
it would be just about the same as your Outlook setup. You should be able to setup your Blackberry for POP or IMAP:

From the BlackBerry handheld Home screen or Tools menu, select the Set Up Internet E-mail or E-mail Setup icon.

You will need the following from your email provider:

Incoming email server (POP or IMAP)
Outgoing email server (SMTP) and port #
Email address
Password
hope this solves ur problem
