Sorry, missed your previous posts. The following blog outlines some simple repair options for a lens error. They won't work for all cases, but they're worth a try if the camera's no longer under warranty. Hope they help:
http://camerarepair.blogspot.com/2007/12/fixing-lens-error-on-digital-camera.html

Wish you the best of luck. But keep in mind though that you have a 50/50 chance of repair with the above techniques. If they don't work, the camera likely needs replacement of the lens assembly. Unfortunately, due to the complexity of the repair (a LOT of things in the way), the cost of such a repair usually outweighs the value of the camera.

The following two links are repair guides for fixing a cracked LCD on similar SD500/600 models. They include some photos that may help illustrate how deeply buried the lens assembly is in the sd elph cameras.

My camera power shot s315 lwns wont come out and it keeps saying lens error restart camera where or how can i get it fixed

Common problem with cannon cameras. Cannon will not admit. You can send to Canon, but they will request "standard charge" of $100 plus fix costs. Best bet is to see if they will give you credit toward a new camera or buy a new one, lots of great cameras out there for under $150.

My cannon power shot sd600 viewer doesnt turn on

Sounds like you accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD screen on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. Try pressing this button one more time to see if it turns back on.

My cyber shot dsc w5 wont power up unless I want to view previous pics. What do I do with it?

I had exactly same issue with mine w17 and tried so many ways to fix this. Was even ready to buy some new camera instead of this Sony dsc w-17 but then found a way of resetting camera in such way: powerdown and take batteries out. Then hold "power" button for 30 seconds, release and repeat couple of times. It helped
Also if it won't work try contacting Sony online chat support - they seem to be helpful.

Power Shot A630 says card locked, will not take or delete pics

There is a switch on the side of the SD card, slide to unlock position then go to the SETUP menu, format the card (before doing that, make sure you have saved all pictures from the SD card to your computer)
this post may help

Cannon powershot sd550 parts

Hi

That part is part of the battery compartment and requires fairly major surgery to replace. You won't be able to buy it anywhere without buying the complete battery compartment assembly... except from us.

We are a digital camera repair business and we specialize in hard to find parts. (Google: Darntoothysam). I created a listing for your part on the site, but I can't post a link because I can't tell you how to get your camera fixed other than by saying 'just fix it'. Thanks Fixya terms of service rules! (I was told that posting a link was 'illegal' - their words!)

If we can help you with your repair we would be happy to do so, it's why we're here. If we can't then please feel free to email or post asking questions. We are a real digital camera repair business, not some kid in a Gee. Sq... shirt that knows nothing about a camera other than what it says on the box.

Good luck with your repair

I have a problem with a Cannon Power Shot A610 as follows: The monitor is dark when the camera is turned on and the camera will not take photos. The playback works OK for reviewing photos previously taken...

I called Cannon Tech Support. They offered to repair mine or uugrade me to more expensive one ( rebuilt ) for less than their estimated repair price. I haven't made a decision yet.

I have owned several Cannon brand cameras (not this particular model) and have always been very happy with them. I would support the purchase of any Cannon product.

cnet gives this camera a good review.
