Unknown Device I have a sandisk cruzer, titanium 1GB. I have used this to store massive amounts of data that I frequently need to access. Recently, when I plugged the device into my computer's USB, I received the following message: "USB Device Not Recognized" After double clicking on this message, I got the USB Root Hub. The last item on the tree stated: "Unknown Device." I double-clicked on the unknown device, and in the Device Status box, received the following message: "No Drivers installed for this device. If you are having problems with this device, click Troubleshoot to start the troubleshooter." I attempted to troubleshoot, but the device remains unrecognized. How can I access the data I have stored on this device?

Have you tried to plug it into another usb por to see if you get the same result, the original port might be in a locked state and may have had problems releasing the usb key.

Did you try reboot your PC?

It says you have been locked out coz I have exceed the number of password attempts.

SanDisk does not provide backdoor work-arounds to lockouts. It is impossible to recover the data stored on the disk, and you will have to format.

My U3 Smart SanDisk Cruzer Micro 2.0GB USB Drive Not Recognized

We can fix it -- and recover the data (provided it is recoverable -- which it generally is). If we don't get your data back, we ship the drive back to you and you pay nothing. We've been recovering data for over 16 years and are successful about 85% of the time.

Cruzer Scandisk 2.0 titanium

Hi, Not unless you are using Windows98, your PC should automatically recognize the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium as a "Removable Storage/Device". Driver is not required for Windows ME, W2k or XP. If for some reason the SanDisk Cruzer Titanium (non-U3 devices) is not recognizable, then perhaps it is not a problem with the PC but with the SanDisk. Pls try all other USB ports of your PC (front and back). The SanDisk website provides utilities/software for this kind of eventuality. They are Sansa Firmware Updater and Sansa Connect Recovery Tool. Both are available at http://www.sandisk.com/Retail/DriverDownloads.aspx. Pls be forwarned that some utilities can and will reset your SanDisk to default and any or all data can and may be deleted. Hope this be of some help/idea. Pls post back how things are or should you need additional information. Good luck and kind regards.

Sandisk cruzer titanium 4.0 GB

May be the USB drive is damged. Try connecting it to another machine. If it works then plug it in to the same port as you have installed it.

SanDisk 1GB Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive - device not recognised

I've had this same problem with a number of Cruzer Titaniums. In my case, it seemed to have been due to data corruption. There seems to a section of the flash that is dedicated not to storage but to helping the computer recognize the device. Once this gets trashed, I don't know of a way that the end user can fix the problem. What a waste, because in all other aspects the device is probably still ok. Kind of like a PC with a corrupted BIOS image.
