Did you get a CD when you signed up to your broadband package?

Might be worth running that - or contacting your internet provider.

Reboot problems

Hi Dear,
The problem you discussed is hardware related, IT has to do with the cmos battery or the Sata cable.

Disconnect/Connect CMOS battery and reconfigure BIOS settings again based on defaults
- Replace "ALL" SATA Cables and reconnect all drives

Delete bing off of my computor

Hi Gary,
Are you using Internet Explorer 8.. ?

have you tried resetting IE8 back to factory settings. tools> internet options> advanced tab> reset. This will reset IE.

When you open it next time you can delete Bing in the upper rt corner there is a pull down arrow that says "Manage search providers". Click on that and you can delete or disable Bing

Restart your PC once after you have done it

antoniogmart,

Unfortunately, the Optiplex 740 did not ship with a Factory Restore Partition. You will need to manually reinstall Windows, Drivers and Software. Below are links to provide you with information on installing Windows XP as well as the drivers download page.

I own a Dell Optiplex GX150. I am trying to access the system partition that will allow me to restore back to my factory settings. This computer was purchased back around 2001 and did not arrive with any...

Contact Dell technical support to get the CD read the partition on your hard drive to restore to factory settings. It won't be able to work without one since it has to boot from the CD in order to get it to work.

I cannot get my wireless router to work after resetting it.

When you reset the router, it will go back to its factory settings which means you will lose all the settings or configuration you created on the router.

You have to reconfigure it using a setup CD supplied with the router or reconfigure it manually by logging in via the setup page of your router using your browser (IE or Mozilla).

HOW TO RENAME MY BELKIN ROUTER

Using the WEB BASED INTERFACE.
Using your Internet browser, you can access the Router’s Web-Based
Advanced User Interface. In your browser, type “192.168.2.1” (do
not type in anything else such as “http://” or “www”) then press the
“Enter” key.
You will see the Router’s home page in your browser window.
Clicking on the header of the “Wireless” tab will take you to the
“Wireless” header page. From this page, the Router’s wireless radio
can be enabled or disabled (the default setting is enabled). Under the
“Wireless” tab, there are links that allow you to make changes to the
wireless network settings.

Changing the Wireless Network Name (SSID)
To identify your wireless network, a name called the SSID (Service
Set Identifier) is used. The default SSID of the Router is “belkin54g”.
You can change this to anything you want to or you can leave it
unchanged. If there are other wireless networks operating in your
area, you will want to make sure that your SSID is unique (does not match that of another wireless network in the area). To change the SSID, type in the SSID that you want to use in the “SSID” field (1) and click “Apply Changes”
(2). The change is immediate. If you make a change to the SSID, your wireless-equipped computers may also need to be reconfigured to connect to your new network name. Refer to the documentation of your wireless network adapter for information on making this change.
