The easiest way is to do what I did for FREE, FAST AND EASY. First unplug and remove the battery. Second remove the, hard drive, memory and the internal battery. Third step with all items removed and the laptop unplugged hold the power button down for about 10 seconds and release. (Your machine is now free of any internal memory). Now go relax for at least 15 minutes and forget about it. Now put it all back together.Almost there, take a deep breath and power that bad boy on HOLDING THE FN KEY DOWN UNTIL THE IBM SCREEN APPEARS .... NOW PRESS THE F1 KEY AND WAIT......the key is gone and all you have to do is set your time and date go to security and disable the passwords and follow the on screen instructions. Now wasn't that easy?

You must be referring to the bios password or maybe the power on password. You can try taking out the yellow coin cmos battery located under the cover for the modem/wireless card/ bluetooth card bay. Unplug the wire and leave out for 24 hours or longer and this might do the trick. Make sure you unplug the computer and take any batteries out of the machine beforehand. If this does not work then you can always get a company to unlock it for you for a fee. Check ebay and you will see auctions based on the model of notebook you own. In your case click here http://cgi.ebay.com/IBM-LENOVO-Thinkpad-BIOS-Password-A30-A31-T30-T42p-T61p_W0QQitemZ400107955932QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item5d284ae6dc

Good Luck!

SOURCE: Ibm thinkpad A30 2652

Some of the older thinkpad had a program you from the OS or a boot floppy to had to run to get change the bios settings. But the BIOS key on most is F1. So if you press that key as soon as you turn the machine on and anything appears on the screen, and once you've provided the password you can then change the password to blank within the bios.

If you don't know the password at all, there may still be a way to reset it, but it may require a call to IBM/Lenov, or some other tedious process.

Cant get in my ibm thinkpad laptop A30 it is bios locked

I have not experienced this with a T4X product., but I have experienced it with the older X600 series. I assume that your MB is password protected. If this is he case, you will need to have a ROM on your MB swapped out.

If anyone has a means of breaking into the MB, I would appreciate knowing about it.

Good luck

How can i reset bios password of ibm thinkpad A30 2652

To reset the BIOS password read the information from this link.

In case of your laptop the easiest method would be using software from Hiren's Boot CD.

The owner of a IBM Thinkpad Model 2652 had problems with operating programs. He was told to change his BIOS Password to get programs running again. He went to the BIOS settings link and changed the...

That is a bit of a problem.
There is no way of finding out what it was I suppose as there is no way of cracking the password.
Contact IBM.com for a dealer near you who can do it for you. I can do it but I am tied by protocol as it is a confidential action.
Why changing the password would help, I have no idea. It won't affect the programmes.
Hope that helps.

Hi sir.. can u fix my ibm thinkpad A30

Here's a link to IBM's video drivers. You might have to try several before finding the right one. Keep in mind that it doesn't have to have your particular model listed in order to work properly.
