When you install the sound driver for you asus P4XP-X the mixer is installed by default. You can down load asus last driver for your P4XP-X, SoundMAX Audio Driver version 5.12.01.3533 (WDM) for Win98/ME/2000/XP.

Click this link to asus. http://support.asus.com/download/download.aspx?SLanguage=en-us
Fill in the three windows to the right of the page.
Motherboard
Socket478
P4XP-X Click search.
Click the + sign next to Audio.
Create a new folder & name it P4XP-X sound driver.
Download file: adiwdm_3533.zip & save in your sound folder.
Uncompress the file: adiwdm_3533.zip.
Install the setup.exe file. No need to uninstall current driver.
The mixer will install it's self down near the clock & also in your control panel.

That's it.

I have a Numark HDMIX. I get the following message when I power up the unit, "There are no connected devices to browse content from. please insert media." Please help.....

This is in the wrong category, as this is a mixer and not a motherboard. Regardless, it sounds like the mixer needs a form of digital media and it is not finding one. If there is a device that seems to be connected, you may want to double check that the cables are connected correctly and are in good shape. If this is not the problem and everything else seems to be in order, there may be a problem with the mixer and I would probably contact Numark.

Pc has no sound. Volume control says no mixer device installed.

This sound like a operating system corruption. You will have to install the windows disc and try to do a repair of the system. If the repair fails and you cannot get the sound to work. You will have to reinstall windows. These corruptions happen due to downloading programs that do not work well with the operating system. You can try removing all the new programs, you installed before the problem appeared.See if that returns the sound operation to normal. If not you can also try a restore windows to a earlier set-up with the windows restore point. If Have done a back-up of your system. This may also restore the sound to normal operation. If all this fails you probably have a bad motherboard that has lost the functional operation of the sound circuits. You may need a new motherboard. If this is the problem. You can go on the motherboard maker website and look into the frequently asked questions and troubleshooting sections and see if this is a known problem with you motherboard model. See if they have a solution. I hope this information helps you with your problem.

It about mixer device

that is a motherboard problem. The good news is that you can add a sound card to your system and disable the built in sound for relatively low cost.

If you find this helpful please rate fixya.

usually a mixer device is a software program that emulates or acts like a mixer. Do u have a program like Windows media player, another program called "Spinner", Nero media player that have mixers. goto www.PCworld.com and look up mixers. u will find a fine collection of audio porgrams and most are "free"!!
good luck, "guntop"
p.s. Did u install, that I will assume u have Windows, xp, me, 98 media player software ?
