Hi, can you advise me on how to set the head unit setting for an amp for my JVC KD DV 4205. I have a 4 speaker system in now and have fitted 2 extra speakers in the rear parcel shelf and an amp to drive them (6 in all) but no sound is coming from the new speakers, the amp is connected through RCA plugs to the head unit, hope you can help, Les.

    oh.. simple..

you will have to configure your system for the two speakers connected..

few systems come with a microphone which are used to configure the speakers..

that configuration is done when these speakers are set initailly

so when you have added two new speakers that configuration must be done again.

it means speakers must be configured each time when they are changed from their settings

    thank you sir

    good luck

the feed back microphone must be placed in the middle of hall and then check for feed back mode..

but use manual surely to set it..

    thank you

If you didn't change any of the settings on the device you may have blown out the power amp transistors ( and usually the driver transistors as well). I'm not saying that this is the 100 percent right answer, but since you have sound with the earphones it is very likely. the headphone amp and main amp are two seperate things. there is ofter fuzes in the higher end units like you have. Look on the back of the amp. If there are no fuzes there, they may be internal. If they are on the back you can replace them, but if they immediately blow again that would indicate blown power amp, and a trip to electronics repair is in your future. good luck. Harmon Kardom makes great equipment.

Zone 2 Setup on the RX-V773 using the ZONE2/PRESENCE Extra Speakers The RX-V773 extra speaker terminals can power one set of speakers for Zone 2 or Presence speakers. If the extra speaker terminals are utilized then the RX-V773 cannot be set for Bi Amp (Surround Back/BI-AMP terminals). Setting the Extra Speaker Terminals Note: The RX-V773 remote control will be used to access the On Screen Menu of receiver. 1. To control Zone 2 using the RX-V773 remote, the switch at the upper left side (above the BD/DVD Scene button) of the remote must be set to Zone 2. To see the operations on the front of the Yamaha receiver you must press the Zone Control button on the front of the receiver. Note: Only analog signals can be sent to Zone 2. If you want to output the sound from Zone 2, connect an external component to USB Thumb drive, USB iPhone/iPod, Network, AV 5-6 or Audio 1-2 by analog connection. For AM/FM radio the antennas must be attached.

Have you connected an extra pair of speakers?. (Thereby loading the amp stage beyond it's capacity)
Are the speakers connected to the unit the original ones the system came with or different? ( Speaker impedance, usually displayed at the back of the speaker cabinet must not be less than amp's specifications....6 ohms, 8 ohms)
If you're driving the unit excessively you're lucky this piece is equipped with protect mode, else your speakers and amp would have been fried by now.
One last possibility comes to mind: High volume causes vibration causing loosely fitted mains plug to rattle in wall socket calling "protect" due to improper feed voltage. Move the unit to another wall socket and ensure a tight fit into mains receptacle.

Can't really help without seeing the item - but I know it is very difficult to fit a 'different' radio to cars nowadays as they are all 'cutom-built' just to fit their vehicle.
What do you mean ' the wiring is too large at rear of unit ' ?#
Is this the radio itself you mean - what wiring is at the rear of the JVC KD G431?
