Unfortunatly mu laptop did not come with a vista disk or a recovery disk and this problem happened before i could back up system. I would recomend to any user using vista to make the recovery disk before installing any software. you learn by your mistakes :(

Hi,
Mark if you have the Acers restore or rescue disks, you should be able to use these to get your system back up and running.
I,d suggest your problem/conflict With your Application Crash is an incompatable program with vista.

The Only other suggestion i have, is to boot the computer with Vista in the CD/DVD Drive, and re-install over the top of your existing system.

Alternative is to Install Windows XP, More reliable Tried And Tested. And definately more Compatable with Software.

I have a packard bell imedia mc 1538 and need to resore to factory settings, have tried using F10 key with no result just goes to start up. The master cd just does a system restore and not the factory...

If the file that holds the factory settings is gone then there is no way to restore the factory settings back. You can however reinstall windows if you got a hold of a windows disc in the version you want. You can use the windows key on the computer somewhere to activate the windows. I would suggest doing a system restore the the last restore point and removing any unwanted things from there.

How do i reset my laptop to factory settings after installing vista

If you have removed the restoration partation while installing VISTA, you are done.
If you did not backup your programs before installing VISTA, you are done.
If however you had VISTA on the unit and you have re-installed it on the same, you may have a chance.
The best way to restore you computer back to factory is from the restoration disks or partation.
You can aways contact acer for a restoration disk set.
Hope this info has helped.

How to restore netbook back to manufacturer setting?

Turn off computer.
As soon as you turn it on keep tapping Ctrl+F11 or F11.

Then you will be taken to a complete PC restore screen. Then you can follow the instructions to resore your PC to factory defaults.

If you are using Vista.

Then press F8 and then choose the option Repair your computer. In that you will have an option to restore to factory defaults.

I want to restore my Acer Aspire M1100 desktop computer back to factory settings. I have the disks from Acer, one is a System Disk and one is a Recovery Disk. Is there any way to restore/reinstall Vista...

Hello,

If you used the restore disk on your computer it will erase all files, and all your programs. the restore Factory settings means "ALL" settings the time you created the CD for the restore.

If you have an individual Vista Installer CD with the Serial you can use it and use restore option.

Thank you for using Fixya
Hope this helps.

Computer restor back to factory set

Pressing F10 on start up, is not for acer laptops, you need to have done a back up when you first got it running and use e-recovery to recover from your 'D' drive. see this explanation http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/as_3680.html
