Hi,
On Compaq evos, some hard-drives Are easily accesible underneath via A single-screw flap panel.
On looking at the specs of your machine, i,d suggest that it,s accesible from underneath the keyboard. this involves. removal of battery and ram. ( To avoid Static Damage )
Removal of the Power-Switch Panel. Then you can get access to the keyboard. Keyboard removal And hard drive bay will then be easily accessed. Youe other options are to purchase an external USB Hard-drive, and configure in the bios to be the first or primary boot device.

After installing Windows, you need to install the Compaq Evo device drivers, which include the audio driver.
You can download the drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure you select your model laptop and the XP orVista Windows version of the drivers you require and install them. Click onthis link to download the drivers: -

Error message NTLDR missing on formatted hard drive

You need to either reinstall windows, or take the hard drive out, hook it up as a spare drive to a working computer and copy NTDLR to the root of the laptop hard drive. It would be much easier to reinstall windows. You can always use the recovery portion of Windows, but if I were you I would just do a format and reinstall. NTDLR is just a startup file for Windows XP, that does not mean your hard drive is gone or anything. Please don't forget to rate!..Thanks

Compaq Evo Network Driver On and Off working

If you have access to another system, go to http:\\www.belarc.com and download a free copy of Belarc Advisor. Copy this to a disk or flash drive and install it on the machine in question. This will give you the specific driver that you need to download from intel for your network card. Then go to http:\\www.intel.com and download it.

Hp compaq presario v3000 is not loding the OS, show an error

  • as you boot the computer, start tapping the F8 keys
  • From the boot menu, select Safe Mode
If this seems to work, you can try restoring the computer to an earlier point from Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > System Restore.
If Safe Mode also fails to load, you would have to check your disk for errors or you may have to install XP all over again.
Please get back, if you need any further help.

Compaq evo d500 won't start up and won't let me access boot menu. just keeps saying keyboard fault even when another keyboard is used

press f10 during startup , when the bios open, look for the setting "halt on" . it will have a choice of keyboard, all errors or no errors , set it on "no errors" save and reboot. that may fix it.
You could also get another keyboard (neighbors or a new one) and test to see if a new keyboard solves the issue without recovering your system.
you can also use the recovery CD that came with your system:
USING THE RECOVERY CONSOLE TO REPAIR DAMAGED
FILES
If you cannot start your computer, you can run the Recovery Console from operating system CDROM
provided with the PC. To run the Recovery Console from the operating system CD-ROM:
NOTE: Make sure that the system is configured to boot first from the CD-ROM drive, then from
the hard drive. You can verify or change device boot order using the Computer Setup (F10) Utility.
For more information, refer to the Computer Setup (F10) Utility Guide provided with the
computer.
1. Insert the Windows 2000 or Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
2. Click Start > Shut Down, then select Restart from the drop-down list.
3. In the Shut Down Windows dialog, click OK.
4. Press any key to start the computer from the CD-ROM drive when you are prompted to do so.
5. On the Welcome to Setup page, press R.
6. Choose the installation that you want to access from the Recovery Console.
7. Type the administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, press the Enter key.

My compaq evo n115 does not start up cause after the compaq screen it says disk error and there is no disk

This can mean hard drive failure, corrupt mbr (master boot record) or possibly you left a cd/dvd in the rom. If you have your operating systems installation disk try doing a repair, not recovery console ---repair only first.
Before that go into bios and see if your hard drive is detected.
You can also open the case and feel if the hard drive is running. Maybe unplug it and plug all connections back into the hard drive, doing this with computer off!!!
