I tried to load just Windows, while 20 percent of formatting the hard drive, I get error POSSIBLE BAD DRIVE, i am ready to switch drives, but I dont want to the lose money if that is not the problem. And if i do purchase another HD (mk4018gap 40 gig), can I get larger drive? please help. thanx, Jazz

My Toshiba just shuts off. When it does it will not come back on. It was left off the power source and when I tried to use it it cut off. I plugged it back in and still would not come on. I took the battery out and it came back on so I put the battery back in and it worked fine until this morning when it just cut off again any ideas

Checl all internal cable connections (unplug-plug

Check all internal cable connection to be correct, start and observe messages to see if your HDD is recognized by bios and memory test is ok.
If problem remains try to boot from CD with original operating system disk in CDROM.

Please try changing the HDD. If same thing happens the problem may be with ur O/s Cd or the Mother board
Please let me know this is used machine or New one. If new one please take a different O/S cd and install it.

If you are installing XP and your HDD is SATA then you need sata drivers.

Toshiba sattelite 1905-s301 master codes or passwod by-pass. forgot passwords to unlock computer for use and also forgot my bios password causing computer to keep running the start-up screan, safe-mode,...

I think if you do not have a recovery disc then the operating system needs to be reinstalled. It is also possible that the system needs a virus scan if there was a case of malwares within the PC.

Where can i purchase a MPC13A-20/R 802.11b card for my Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301?

This is the only card that works in the mini-PCI slot in the 1905 series. eBay would be your best bet. You can look under "Toshiba 1905 wireless card" but ... make sure it's an Agere card, as most sellers are selling Intel, Broadcom, Atheros.... and none of them will work.

Toshiba Satellite 1905-S301 PC Notebook will not

Hi! You may want to toggle the function button designated for turning the monitor on or off. Press FN button together with th efunction button that has a monitor image on it. some system uses F2 of F3 button to do this. (Example: press FN+F3 or FN+F2 button together once while computer is on to turn on system display)

Need original disk to reformate

if your computer didn't come with a windows disk then maybe it has a recovery partition on the hard disk if it does then there will be an option in it to format your hard disk and replace the windows files, if you have a recovery partition you can access it by repeatedly pressing the f10 button whilst the computer is booting up, just when the bio codes start appearing on screen after you have pressed the on button (not from standby), it is recomended thet everyone backs up all their files and photos, music, ect and formats their computer every couple of years to clear out all the rubbish and speed up their computer. as for backing up all your files etc well you would be best to buy a piece of custom software such as Nero as this will make it much easier but as you wont want to spend a fortune on this you could always use your DVD drives own burning software, just right click on any icons of the files you want to save and chose send to, then from the next menu chose (send to) DVD drive, depending on the amount you want to save you will need several cd's or one dvd.
EDIT - just another thought, if you dont have a recovery partition windows software allows you to make ONE recovery disk in case you lose your windows disk go to the start menu, then all programs, then system recovery, next recovery media creator, have some cd's or a dvd ready and a cd pen so you will know whats on the disk in case you need it in a couple of years time.
