More info would make this much easier ....if by setup you mean connect everything...you need the power cord and RF switch, its a little box with two cables coming out of it one end goes to the console, i dont remember what it looks like, the other goes to your tv and is a coxial end, or cattv it screws onto a post on the back of most tvs, some newer tvs may not have coxial in, which means you would need a AV switch box to conect cat tv to rca or composite, hdmi or whatever you might happen to have on your tv. then plug the controler into the front of the consoleput in a game and play, also depending on which one the SM2 is you may have a built in game, my old master system had a maze game where you were a snail and had so much time to figure out a maze, to get to it you turn the console on with no games/cards inserted and it will start shortly after the sega logo if your console has it. any way if none of this helps you post more info....whate cables you have with it, what tv brand/model and what connectors it has, is it hd or sd, anything that might be useful to know about your equipment.

I have just found my old sega master system and would like 2 play it on my plasma tv, however i have found it difficult 2 install. any hits would b helpful

You need to hook it up to one of the inputs and remeber the input being used so you can change your plasma tv to it so when you turn on your sega master system the screen will show up.
Here is a video from youtube that shows you exactly how to do it. Sega Master System plasma hookup.

Where could I find a replacement controller port for my Sega Master System, one of the pins is broken, and I would prefer to replace it without cannibalising any of my other consoles.

The best place to look for things like this is eBay. Just search for As-Is Sega Master System on eBay, and see what comes up ( I also just searched for sega master system, and found some cheap consoles that were in working order). Also, another option you might try is see if there were any "controller extensions" made for it. That might give you something to cannibalize to make your new port. Hope this has helped!

Black and white Picture Sega Master System 2

Is this one of those much older Sega systems with the RF connector that plugs into the incoming cable from outside and the TV?If it is,there should be a channel selector switch on the back,CH3 or CH4.Try the other channel. If it doesn't go away, your RF connector is on it's last legs.
Good luck and game on!

I need help setting up my Sega Master System, I am unable to attatch it to the tv.

Hi, Sega master system 2 are connected to your TV via an RF cable. One end is RCA which connects to your console the other end is Pal which connects to you TV's antenna inlet if your using the sega RF switch then the RF switch connects to your antenna inlet on your TV and you should have a RCA to RCA cable which connects the console to the switch. Please note these cables and power adaptors can in some cases be faulty. These console are manually tune to VHF-1 frequency so make sure your TV has this frequency. some do tune to UHF but most tune to VHF-1 if you need parts or want your console modified to connect to a modern TV via AV inlets or S-video visit www.gameoz.com.au they stock a huge range.

BOX THINGY

the box is a RF switching box
the lead you require is a phono to ariel lead (megadrive, master system or any old computer will do)
or if you get an old video lead and cut of one end and wire a phono plug to it it will also work.
or you try ebay

a basic lead for £2.50
replacments upto £10
both work

Sega Master System Controller Port

sounds like the soldering has come loose a bit over the years this tends to happen if you want there is two options open it up and fix the soldering issue or send it in for repair.

I have a shop and it would be $15 plus return shipping costs to fix the unit.
