Passlode 900420: Fan runs in limp mode or half speed when battery is in. But it will not spark with fan plugged in. Unplug the fan unit leave the spark plugged in, it sparks fine. Tested the wire plugging into the fan, 6.6v same as the battery output. 6.3v on other battery. So Fan is receiving 6v but when its plugged in and i test the terminals on top of the fan unit i read 0.6v (half volt) when i compress the knob it reads 0.3v In my opinion the fan is taking the power and grounding it. Anyone know if i need a new fan or can this be repaired? This all started with a routine cleaning, gun worked before i took it apart. First time on the site i was trying to private msg Rowdy45176 on this question. Thanks for any help.

Back from testing it again. Fan works perfect when i touch a hot wire to it. it seems the computer is, as soon as the fan is plugged in kicks down to 0.6v
If the fan was shorting the power it wouldn't work if i ran power directly to it right?

Any other thoughts? if i could get an email accnt that would be easier too.

    Thanks so much

You have a dead short in fan. did you have fan apart for cleaning unit? If so take back apart and check for bare wires grounding the fan. curcuit is not completed

My paslode doesnt work! battery is charged but when i fire the fan makes a wee noise! i opened it and put battery in and pulled trigger and the fan move half a turn. what could this be?fan or wiring?

Morning Andrew,

When was the tool last serviced? Seems rather strange that the fan has only turned 1/2 a rotation. Sometimes, the trigger unit can fail on this tool but.... I'd suggest that you don't try too many times as potentially, you could burn the fan motor out?

Just a thought though, if you disconnect the power to the fan, can you either see or, hear the spark being generated?

Paslode fan runs half spped and will not fire unless fan motor is unplugged

if your fan motor is ok, which it probably is, it has got to be the spark unit . the spark unit is the brains of the operation. the little black box located in the handle of the tool( the spark unit ) can cause fan to run slow or not at all. its a bit expensive( probably 60-80 dollars) but not that hard to change out. if its the original be careful pulling it out its glued in from the factory.

Canon ImageRunner 330s Error E805, Can't Enter Service Mode

FM1 Heat discharge fan Cools fixing unit.E805 0000 Fan failure
only one in this copier>
The fan is faulty. -
Check the fan connector.
- Replace the fan.
- Replace the DC controller PCB.

Switching between full-speed rotation and half-speed rotation is controlled as described below.
1) Full-speed control
When the CPU on the DC controller outputs a fan full speed signal (FAN_FULL), the fan drive voltage switching circuit supplies a +24 V fan drive voltage to turn
the heat exhaust fan at the full speed.
2) Half-speed control
When the CPU on the engine controller outputs a fan half speed signal (FAN_HALF), the fan drive voltage switching circuit supplies a +16 V fan drive voltage to
turn the heat exhaust fan at the half speed.

E805-0000 (Main body fan error)
When the cooling fan of the main body starts, the fan lock detection signal (FAN_LOCK) has been held at the "H" level for longer than the prescribed time.

also check your low-voltage power supply

I have a 900420 gas paslode nail gun .When I push the gun down it is dead ,the battery is charged and it has gas

You need to remove the combustion chamber assembly and check for spark, remove 4 screws from filter cover and 2 screws from nose mount then carefully slide the assembly off, fit a good battery and press down on the roller arm below the fan, the fan should run, operate the trigger while the fan is running and you should get a spark, if not you will have an electrical fault, if you get spark bend the roller up slightly and see if that solves your problem

Gun was jamming up so i cleaned it now green light flashes but if i disconect wire put battery in then plug wires back in fan runs then stops and green light flashes again what could it be

the green light flashing means the tool is ready to fire. when the trigger switch is depressed or the safety activated the fan will run for a short time and automatically shut off. if the tool is not firing then it could be a loose connection of the circuit board or the spark unit. Let me know what the exact problem is and I will try and help further. Also check the expiration date on the bottom of the fuel cell.

I have a PASLOAD 325 IMPULSE Framing Nailer. I have cleaned, replaced gas, charged battery, and oiled. Fan runs fine. spark has been tested with firing head removed. Solid spark every time. When assembled...

checkk the safety to make sure it fully depresses. Also check the gas for the expiration date that is on eht bottom and lastly did you replace the O ring in the fan area if it is an older unit. What I do is leave the top cover with the filter off and pull the pusher spring all the way back and then WITHOUT gas OR ATTERY in tool push down to make sure the safety fully depresses. Also did you remember to reinstall the push rods. also look at the gas stem.

Gun will not fire- cleaned, oil, changed filter, changed spark plug. please help - david

remove the cylinder assembly, and put a battery in towards the top you will see a lever with a roller, depress it and the fan should run, then pull the trigger switch and again the fan should run. now depress the roller lever and hold it while depressing the switch and you should see a spark jump the gap in the upper housing, if not you could remove the battery and remove the handle half looking for loose wires at the terminal board and make sure the spark plug wire is fully inserted into the spark unit. generally it would be the circuit board but either part is expensive. If the fan does not run as indicated above you probably have terminal board that could be causing both.

Fan slows to about half speed when heat cycle kicks in

The heat fan speed is slower than the cooling speed. About 300 rpm less.
You may not have a problem.

Paslode cordless framer wont fire. new gas , charged battery,

K, this could be a couple problems. How far down did you take it to clean? Are you comfortable with removing the combustion chamber/housing from unit. There are 4 screws in the top cover and 2 down where the work contact is. Remove them leaving just the fan assembly and handle housing. Next locate the roller arm next to the fan assembly, put a fresh battery in tool and push the arm (KEEPING HANDS AWAY FROM FAN) the fan should come on, if not you probably have an electronic assembly that is bad, if it does come on it should stop in a few seconds. Next depress the trigger and again the fan should come on. Now to diagnose the firing unit. Depress the lever on the roller arm and hold in while pulling trigger, you should see a spark and also hear it where the plug is. If not then you either have a spark unit that is bad or a wiring problem. At this point I would take in for repair. The spark unit is around 90-100 dollars When you put back together did you also replace the orings or clean the ring grooves? Let me know if you have any questions
