Question about Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 Digital Camera
... took a nasty fall with my beloved camera ... now the lens will extend only a fraction of an inch (a 32nd maybe), the motor makes a little cricket-like sound, and I get a "remove lens capt and press > button" message. ... my guess is it's a goner and it's time to pony up for a new camera ... but I'd like to hear from anyone on a) whether there's something I can do myself or b) whether it's likely repairable at less than, say, half the price of a good used or refurbished replacement ...
But be super-careful about taking the big cog off the lens. there are two tiny ribbon cables that snap easily.
