Mitsubishi VS-60111 video problem

I have a problem and need of a help in fixing my TV. It turns on and works for a little while maybe 1 minute. Sound is good and picture is good. I have replaced a resistor that a gecko has died on in the power supply section. I also have resoldered some joints on the convergence ICs. I have a error code of 21. I have checked the capacitors, diodes, and have replaced IC5A02. I can't find a replacement for IC5A00. I am not too sure if I am checking the right components. Once again problem that I have is that my TV turns off after 1 minute of turning on and when there is video. With out any video the TV stays on and I have an error code 21.

I have the service manual, but I'm not that great with trying to find out which component need to be replace. I am good in replacing parts, but thoroughly inspection I lack of doing so.

I have a Mitsubishi VS-60111 TV and the colors are messing up. When I go into the Convergence screen, the blue line is warped and will not let me move it back itno place. What do I need to do?

This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem.

Common Symptoms include....

  • Screen looks 3D
  • Colors don't line up
  • One or more colors can't be adjusted when using the convergence menu.
  • Screen is bowed or warped.
  • TV shuts off after powering on. Power light will blink. TV may also make a chirping noise.
Here are some images of convergence problems.

Flashing Tv screen

Turned out to be a problem with my dish receiver. Found out by attaching a separate DVD unit to the TV, and it didn't flash. I then realized everything ran through the dish receiver. Called them, reset ( by unplugging for 90 seconds) and all was well.

VS-60111 turns off on its own after few hours

Did you repair the two leads? Ao check near the Convergence ICs for an open resistor or two, although that shouldn't effect your audio. Yu most likely have a low voltage regulator or bad capacitor. You will probably need the service manual to actually track it down. I will post a link where you can ge one for 12.99 and the include free unlimited support. They will also email it instantly to you if you return to the site and send them an email requesting they email it to you. You sound like you could fx it with the service manual and some guidance. Here is the link.

Mitsubishi VS-60111 video blink

I would check for Bad solder joints around the flyback, and the verticle and horizontal yoke plugs for starters. Lower your volume and listen if you hear the high voltage come back up when your video comes back up. Let me know what you discover when you check the solder joints.
