"card locked" error

I have a canon PowerShot SD1100 and every time I turn it on, it says "card locked" I locked and unlocked my SD card multiple times, reformatted it, and even put a different card in but the problem still persists. Is it possibly a problem with the camera? I lost the user manual and everything that went with the camera in a move so I cant check that.

How to unlock memory card?

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

I have camera canon sd 1200 IS power shot but it's card locked, so i can't take picture with camera. do you have any solution?

Take the memory card out of your camera and look at it. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

If that doesn't work, try another card.

Memory card error card says locked

Hi!

SD cards (or MicroSD, using an adapter) are locked using a mechanical switch on their left side.
Simply, take the SD card (or the SD adapter) and change the switch position.
Usually the UP position is the Unlocked position...

Memory card error memory card locked even when I unlock memory card. Tried multiple memory cards.

Remove the SD card from the camera. Slide the tiny switch on the side of the card to its other "unlocked" position. Reinsert the card in the camera. But if you've already tried this (or if this is happening with multiple cards), see this link for additional things that you can try.

Try a retailer near you to see if they will allow you to test your camera with a SD card from a display camera.

Good luck, I hope this helps!
