Question about Wolf Range CHR-10-229-FT11 Kitchen Range

1 Answer

Older 6 burner wolf commercial range ignition problem.

I just bought a six burner 36" Wolf range. After hooking it up to a 3/4" gas supply line (reduced from a 1 1/2 line) I noticed a problem with the right hand set of burners lighting from the pilot lights. The extreme left set of burners light just fine. It appears to me that the two right side sets have less gas pressure when they are lit with a match. I have throughly cleaned the feed tubes found tons of grease, and the burners themselves by removing them and I really took some good time to do this.

Is it possible that the pressure regulator is either bad or out of adjustment? I say this because the side that works the best is closest to the pressure reg. side, etc.

Thanks.

Jeff

I have an older commercial Wolf range 6 burner that we use only during the winter months. Have never had a problem before but when lighting the pilots this year the far left set of burners (2) pilot would not light. My husband has taken the tube that feeds them apart and tried running something through to clean but cannot get all the way to the end the pilot is actually on. We assume there is a plug...is there any way to clean this tube and pilot ie. some sort of liquid or does the copper tube and pilot need to be replaced? If so where would I get the whole thing tube and pilot in a hurry? Need to cook for the holidays! Thanks,Sonya

If it were the gas regulator, existing flames would go down as more burners are turned on.

There are set screws on the pilot fittings that come out of the manifold, you could try turning those Counter-clockwise to turn the pilots up. (Don't loosen them all the way, they will fall out!) If that doesn't work chances are the pilot stems will have to be replaced to get a higher pilot flame.

My wolf range model A36KI/AS36KI DON'T STOP CLIKING WHEN IS ON

Is this happening on only one burner? If so, the igniter might be dirty or the burner itself has a clogged hole(s) where the igniter is positioned. The igniter module must detect a flame, or it will keep clicking even after the burner lights. A dirty igniter or clogged burner will prevent this from happening. First, try cleaning the igniter using a q-tip and some alcohol. If that doesn't work, clean out the burner holes. IMPORTANT: Let everything dry thoroughly before attempting to light the burner after cleaning. You can use a hair dryer to help dry things out faster if you want.

Wolf range 36'' gas range

this sounds as if your gas suooly pressure has dropped and the ignitor
does not light until a significant amount of gas is in the oven. check
your gas supply line for a bend or kink, also chec if the shutoff valve is
partially closed.

Electric igniters dont shut off

Remember to turn the control knob past the "LITE" setting once the burner fires.
If that is not the issue you have one or more defective spark switches.
Each valve has its own switch wired in series with the others.

This sounds like a problem that was common at the time these ranges were sold -- it prompted a recall:

Hopefully you can still get it fixed. BTW, these ranges were manufactured through 2000 by the Wolf Range Co., which only makes the commercial models now. Residential ranges are now marketed under the Wolf brand by Sub-Zero.
