I have an Echo TC-210 that will start and run. The problem is when I stop for whatever reason and attempt to restart, it won't start for hours. The local shop says he adjusts the carb, but I know its not...

Next time it won't start, try removing fuel cap, press the fuel purge bulb a few times and put fuel cap back on.

It it then starts, the fuel tank vent needs replaced.

Replace the vent and readjusted carb once more.

Won't start

Check the fuel level in the float chambers of the carbs, it could be too low! Readjust the float to obtain correct level. Blow out the primary and main jets with compressed air.
Hope you adjusted the air screw mixture at the right temperature of the engine i.e. you need to warm it up and than adjust also check the valve clearance of the engine.

Kdx 125 standard carb settings

DEPENDING ON WHICH SCREW WAS TURNED MAKES A DIFFERENCE..BUT RULE OF THUMB IS ALL THE WAY IN NOT TO TIGHT JUST FINGER TIGHT..YOU SEE THOSE NEEDLES HAVE A VERY FINE POINT ON THE END AND IF THEY GET TIGHTENED TO HARD THE POINT GET FLATTENED OUT AND DESTROYED..SO IN FINGER TIGHT AND OUT 1 COMPLETE ROTATION AND A 1/4 TO 3/4 OUT.BOTH SET SCREWS THIS SHOULD GET THE ENGINE RUNNING GOOD ENOUGH TO TUNE..PS..IF YOUR ENGINE DOSE NT AT LEAST ACT LIKE IT WANTS TO START ONLY TRY THREE OR FOUR TIMES IF NOT RUNNING ADJUST AGAIN BUT LITTLE INCREMENTS AT A TIME..NO THROTTLE NO CHOKE..DONT WANT TO FLOOD IT BEFORE IT STARTS..WHEN FLOODED IT WILL NOT START AT ALL..THE BEST WAY TO TUNE A CARB IS WITH A FLOW METER..

Will not start. Took apart, cleaned all the oily residue off everything, including the magnet under the flywheel. put back together. new spark plug. Have good spark now. I think it might need a carburator...

I assume it's probably a Zama carb maybe? A good starting point for carb fine-tuning is about 1 1/2 turns out from a lightly seated position on the H and L adjustment needles. You may have to go as far as 2 turns out to get it to start. If you open the 2 covers at either end of the carb, you will find out the actual condition of the carb and be able to decide if it needs a dighram kit or maybe a complete rebuild kit. Don't use carb/choke cleaner on these carbs and never soak it in a bath-type cleaner...it messes up the check valves..See how Zamas operate here:

ur starting pt is buying a clymer manual so u can be a pro like us a fixya-mechanics cant operate without their tools and that includes books

The standard setting on needles is to screw them in all the way and then back them out 1 and a half turns.

You need to set the mixtures for the carburetor. You will find a Low and High adjustment screw. turn the low adjustment screw out. You will notice that the rpms should start increasing. keep turning it out until the rpms start to drop then turn it back in a quarter of a turn. You may need to readjust the idle speed so the chain doesn't turn during idle. Do the same for the high adjustment screw.

you don't! set pilot two turns out from fully in on carb pilot jet, start engine and set throttle adjuster screw on carb to fast tick over, adjust pilot to get even firing and readjust throttle screw to @1000rpm

GAS LEAF BLOWER WILL NOT START GETTING FIRE

Maybe your carb is out of adjustment. The easiest way to readjust is to turn the screws all the way in and start the blower. While it's running start to back the screws out until it runs nice and smooth and you should be all set.

Idle is off??

disassembly the carb and carefully clean it.Check the air filter,the fuel line and fuel filter,check the needle,lever,small spring and the screen filter from the carb.Check the sparkplug.
high speed H=2 turns,low speed L=2 1/2 turns,adjust T
When chain saw starts adjust H,L and T accordingly.

I would start with both the "H" and "L" needle valves at 1.0 turns CCW from lightly seated then adjust for performance as follows:

CW is leaner; to lean will destroy the saw. If over tightened closed (CW) the adjustment screw faces are easily marred; marred adjustments are difficult to impossible to set properly.
Clean the air filter; adjusting with a dirty filter can cause a run lean condition once cleaned and the saw run. If the saw cannot exhale it cannot inhale.
Clean the spark arrestor and muffler; if the saw cannot exhale it cannot inhale.
There are 2 wav (sound - idle & full - may not be highlighted) files that I find most helpful, I think you will too.
