i've installed the print cartridge but there's a notification saying it is not properly installed. i've done this before many times n it works well, but now, when i tried to install the cartridge, the msg will appear every time i try to print documents... how to solve this?

I have the same problem. The cartridges seem easy to install, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong there. These cartridges cost us a fortune.

do you have your manual or do need a walk through? Or would you just like the manual if you don't have one? Changing cartridges is somewhat easy and the manual has pictures. It's up to you.

Go to this link and type "install ink" in the Search box. Click on the Search button, then click on the link "How do I install cartridge(s)?". You will get an illustrated and animated guide. Please note in step 1 that you must turn your printer on and allow the cartridge carrier to move all the way to the left before inserting the cartridges.

Make sure you removed the protective film on the cartridges.I've seen this alot on new installs.Next clean the print catridge contacts with a clean moist (very little) cloth ,then dry cloth. It may work, Good Luck.

It sounds like the electrics on the back of the cartridge have failed, replace with a new cartridge, and away you go.

Canon ip 1800 refilled ink says ink has run out, it's full

Here's how to reset the printer so it doesn't give you the out-of-ink message:   1)  Hold down the flashing yellow RESUME button for almost 1 minute 2) Open the cover 3) Release the cartridge(s) (#30 is black, #31 is color), and then reinstall cartridge(s).  Close cover. 4) Turn printer OFF (I had to wait and try this numerous times as green light was flashing & it wouldn't shut off.  Wait, then press OFF again. ) 5) Turn printer back ON, and cheer when it prints.

My cannon printer pixma ip1800 cannot detect ink pls help me...

If after you install the cartridge you get a yellow light and error message:
“The following may have run out of color. The function for
detecting the remaining ink level will be disabled since the
ink level cannot be correctly detected. If you want to
continue printing with out this function, press the printer’s
start button. Canon recommends using new genuine Canon
cartridges in order to obtain optimum quality.”

Do not click “cancel printing”. Press printer start button
to start printing. This action will bypass the ink level
detection from the recycled cartridge. It will not damage the
printer! With a recycled cartridge this action needs to be
done one time.
A full recycled cartridge ink level may not display correctly.
It may show empty.
If you want to check the ink level, you can do a “Nozzle
check” by follow the directions below:
Go to menu File select print click on “Property” click
on “Maintenance”
Click on “Nozzle check” to print out the color check.
Click on “Cartridge Alignment” to align the cartridge.

See pictures for above process at Inktelligent ip 1800 topic

Also the refills refered to above are at the IP 1800 inkfilling page
