Re: the fan on my HP Pavillion laptop is making a loud...
It is good idea to repair it in service before burn out.
Fan blockage may lead to processor overheating and burning ... so as soon as better

fans tend to make loud noise right before they stop working!!! check to make sure that there is no clump of dust inside affecting the spin of the blades
There are no belts in a computer, sounds like something is rubbing in your computer cooling fan blades, get a can of Duster ( to clean dust from things) and spray the compressed air into all the vent holes to clean out any dust and debris.
The sound you are hearing is probably the fan, This fan has a noisy bearing and will eventually lock up and the fan will stop spinning and therefore the CPU will overheat and shutdown.
The fan needs to be replaced.
try unplugging your power supply it may be failing and causing te noise.
Alternately your fans may be coming on when the machine warms up causing the noise - listen close by the vents on the machine and you should be able to narrow down where the sound is coming from
This is not a problem most people experience this. Its just your fan making noise monstly because it is touching some wire inside. You don't need to worry about this.
