Question about Canon PIXMA MP150 All-In-One InkJet Printer
I have tried reseating the cartritdge, and turning unit on/off, but problem persists.
I am using only the Black ink, the color cartridge is there but empty. 'Ink cartridge Setting' under the 'Maintenance' tab is set to Black only.
Problem started when I replaced the Black cartridge with a remanufactured one from OfficeMax. The printer worked fine then, but next time I turned it on the Error appeared.
Is it past the point of no return?

You can also uninstall and reinstall printer drivers if you have the cd or visit the manufactuarer's website and download those drivers.. be sure to reboot after uninstalling them too.. if you need additional assistance let me know...
also check to be sure the printer cartridge is all the way in too..
that's helped many others as well.. also try taking the cartridges out and shake them for a few minutes, reinsert them and reboot everything.. let me know what worked out for you..

This problem happens a lot after the machine is out of it's 2 year warranty. There not built to last much longer then that, and it's a pain as I hardly ever used mine.
You will find suggestions everywhere for cleaning the ink bases and foil areas on the cartridges, make sure to clean even the smallest bit of dust off of gears and path of the ink, and make sure there is no paper jams, update the drivers, re-install it, switch usb ports.... then even try popping in a brand new ink cartridge.
Unfortunately, if none of that works, like it didn't for me either, you most likely have the machine blinking "ALARM", E - 2 - 2, or error 22 and you will get like code 5100 and 2,250,0 errors and such when trying to scan.
To put it into English, the machine is saying, "I am f*&^%$ up"
Sorry to have to say it, but there does not seem to be any fix for this problem. Your only choices are to have it repaired, or throw it away and purchase a new printer/scanner.
