Sounds like you might have a sock or other small item stuck under the lint screen down in blower wheel, remove lint screen and w/ flashlight look down vent you might get lucky enough to see and possible snag with a coat hanger

My Kenmore 90 Series electric dryer makes a humming noise when I push the start button. It heats up, run for a short while, then stops. Before it stops there is a clicking noise like a circuit or safety...

There's possibilty that the bearing is going bad. It would cause the belt to slide alittle when the drums starts to turn. The strain on the motor because of the bad bearing can cause the motor overload and shut down until it cools, then it can be restarted.

Dryer won't start but makes a humming / buzzing noise when you push the start button

If the humming noise is coming from the motor, (take the back panel off) remove the power plug and try to turn the motor by hand. If it seems free, look for a 'starter' capacitor on the motor which may be bad.

Dryer will not start upon pushing the start button.

the motor is more than likely bad but just to be safe check the blower wheel and make sure there is not anything in it then remove the belt and try to turn motor if the motor feels real tight then you need to replace the motor

Dryer won't spin

hey first make sure the timer knob is set on drying cycle and not off ( know it might sound stupid but people forget sometimes) and if its making that noise the humming it means you need a new motor 100% sure its not easy to do if you have never done it before

Our Kenmore clothes dryer is not starting.

its sounds like you have a broken belt or a bad door swith open the door rotate the drum manually if it feels verry easy to turn that means your belt is broken if not you can check the wires then replace the door switck thanks from gilles

When you push start button, it makes noise but won't start.

This is a A.C. hum that you are hearing. this is a warning sign. You are experiencing motor failure. the actual windings inside of the motor are losing their potential to hold an even current due to breakage. the shutdown is a safety feature built in the control panel to prevent electrical spark/fire.

Humming noise, runs and stops thru out drying process.

You have a motor that has a thermal overload built into it. This is for the dryer's protection. My best guess is to replace the motor. But before you do all that, make sure the wiring is good from the receptacle to the controls in the back of the dryer. It could not have a good connection thus causing this noise.

Kenmore dryer hums but will not start

If it just hums the motor is probably on it's way out. If it makes a growling noise, it's the motor.
