Question about Samsung HC-P4752W 47" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television

1 Answer

Dead set When power button is pressed the red light on the front of the set blinks three or four times and then stays on. A fant squell can be heard when power button is pressed. B+ on the collector of the horiz. output transistor is 75 volts when power button is pressed but drops out immediately. I have checked filter in power supply and have found none that are bad. Any ideas?

The high voltage does not come up so the tubes do not arch. I don't have a diagram for this set so i am kind of shooting in the dark. When the power button is pressed i hear a faint squell. I think the horiz. freq. is off preventing the set from powering up.

It's currently dead. Turns on with bright screen & scan (?) lines, fades out, then the bulbs flash and it shuts itself off.

When power button is pressed the red light on the front of the set
blinks three or four times and then stays on. A high pitch squeal can be
heard when power button is pressed. Problem started after a power surge in the house. TV was on a surge strip and everything else is working fine. Is this worth having repaired or am i better off buying a new tv.

These sets had a serious crt problem.Check and see if there is any arching on the tubes or tube sockets.

Sher3sc@aolI have a Mitsubishi hd 1080 series and the power button goes off as soon as you turn it on. How can I fix this?

The set has a self check feature: when green light (power) goes out on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input buttons at same time for at least five seconds and release both.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like: 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

If the set was unplugged you will have to try to turn it on and then do the check.

2,2 is short protection and usually means (98%) convergence problem.

1,2 is no error detected etc.

Let me know what you find and I will help.

I need the cod

Hello
I don't know what code do you need. Your post is not clear. Anyway assumeing that you needs universal remote contol codes for your Hitachi, and posts this solution.
Three digit universal remote code for Hitachi are:
001/ 004/ 009/ 013/ 059/ 061/ 079/ 088/ 091/ 137/ 139/ 140/ 141/ 142/ 143/ 144/ 145/ 146/ 179/ 210
Four digit universal remote codes for Hitachi are:
0088 0059 0142 0060 0072 0004 0009 0091 0001 0012 0061 0137 0139 0141 0179 0227
Direct Code Entry
  1. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  2. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  3. Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
  4. With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand.
Code Search If after trying "Direct Code Entry" your device does not respond, or if your brand is not listed, try doing a search of the code library for your code by following these steps.
  1. Manually turn on the device (TV, VCR, etc.) to be controlled.
  2. Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
  3. Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks once, then stays on.
  4. Press the CHANNEL UP button repeatedly (up to 300 times) until the device to be controlled changes channel. The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
  5. Press and release MUTE to install the code. The indicator light goes off.
Most users will want to store VCR codes under the VCR button, Cable codes under CBL, etc. If you want to store a VCR code under CBL, etc., first follow the procedure for Direct Code Entry and press CBL in step 2 of Direct Code Entry, then enter ANY VCR code in step 3 of Direct Code Entry. Then follow the steps above for Code Search.

When the tv plugged up the power led blinks 3 times. When the power button is pressed the tv comes on for three seconds and turns back off. What could be the problem? Could this be a convergence problem?

Do the self check when power light goes out:

ON front of set (not remote) press and hold both the Menu and Input (Device) buttons at same time for 5 seconds or longer and release both buttons.

Power light will blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it several times.

Let me know code.

The tv just turns off after about 5 seconds and won't stay on. i've used the system reset and unplugged it already. no power surge, lightning storm, etc. Ideas?

If reset does not cure it and if after about 70 seconds of unplugging set the green power light stops blinking, do this:

When power light comes on and goes off, on the front of the set press and hold both the menu and input buttons at the same time for at least 5 seconds and RELEASE both buttons.

Power light should blink a two digit error code like 2 blinks, 2 blinks, a pause and repeat it four more times.

Let me know what error code you find and if this told you something you did not know, rate this solution as very helpful as I do this here for free.

WD-52327 Red Light Problem

Try pushing input and menu buttons in together on the front TV panel and hold in for 8 seconds to see if the set blinks a two digit code as it may have bad capacitors if it blinks a 3 4 code.
