I assume you have the user manual for it.
If not it's here in Adobe Acrobat format .pdf file:

Just a thought but are you sure the speaker connecters on the back or the reciever are gripping the inner wire and not the plastic covering on the leads. Sounds daft I know but I have seen it before.

Pioneer VSX-D307 has no sound from right front speaker.

Did you connect a known good speaker to the amplifier's right front output connections? Make sure you also have known good wires for the front right as well. Make sure balance control is set to the middle and not just to the left.

Front speakers 5.1

Turn up the volume on the left or right speakers or turn down the center channel volume to meet your preferences. There should be a setting for that in most receivers.

Speaker sound will only come out of center speakers. The rear and front speakers do not have any sound

first is of course make sure hookup is still ok and then I would have the speakers checked (not likely) and last means a failure in the receiver itself--most shops for a fee will inspect it and give you an estimate.

Not getting sound thru speakers only tv with hdmi cable connected do I need to connect Digital fiber optic cable too Also able to download owners manual for vsx1017txv

Receivers of this complexity require some patience. I believe the HDMI on this receiver is only for on screen display and video pass through. The audio needs to be separately connected. For digital audio you need to connect either via the digital audio coax or fiber optic input. I replaced my entire 1980s audio system with this unit and have been very happy. It's compact, and I feed it everything via a 35' fiber optic cable (under $20!) tied to a 3-way passive fiber switch (under $10) connected to my computer, a Tivo, and a DVD player. Sounds amazing (make sure to run set up to get the unit to perform with all of your speakers! -- I use an 8 speaker 7.1 surround set up).

Pioneer VSX-1017TXV-K.......it keeps shutting off at high volume..can't figure out why and have tried everything in the manual to stop it but it keeps doing it

Hello, your speakers are the problem or if your unit has a fan it is not working. Turn on the stereo at low volume. Take off the speaker grill (if you can) and put your ear up to each speaker in each cabinet. You will most likely find that a mid-range or tweeter speaker is not putting out sound. That's what I have seen the most in the 20 years or so of doing this. Good Luck
