Question about HP Deskjet D2360 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Patchy printing I've had the d2360 for a few months, and I continue to have a problem when printing, especially with black ink. Basically, when I print text documents, the beginning of the first line is always smudged, and after a few lines, especially on the 'fast draft' and 'fast normal', huge patches are semi or completely unprinted. Every other line will first appear faint, and it just grows worse. I first thought it was a dodgy cartridge, but I've changed it several times, and the problem continues. Only when I print with 'best' quality does it print to an acceptable standard. Is this a common problem? Matt F

We have a HP5150 in the office and have changed the cartridge due to low/empty ink. The low cartridge printed in patches but having changed the cartridge TWICE with new cartridges, the same problem occurred with patchy printing. This has not happened before. There do not seem to be any printer links to performance cleaning as many printers have, so aprt from treading that someone had suggested Isopropal Alcohol whuich was messy, we are stuck. Any ideas??

A firmware update for your model addresses print quality issues. Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark S400 Series Firmware Update. If more than one download is listed for your model, choose the first download in the list. If it is the wrong firmware level, an error message will tell you which firmware level is correct.
Try to print again to verify that the print quality has improved.

Should the problem continue, it could be that the printhead itself is the problem. Please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

My printer goes through the motion of printing but the paper comes out blank. I've an hp deskjet d2360 and there is ink in it

Possibility cartridge print head dry.

Solution 1:
Do a clean process
cartridge automatically. Press START - Control Panel - Printers and Faxes - HP Deskjet d2360 right click and select Printing Preferences - Select the Color tab - select Printer Services - select Clean cartridge, wait for the cleaning process is completed - Perform Test print. If the print test results, has good graphics, press Finish. If the graph is not clear or drop out, repeat the cleaning process once again.

Solution 2:
1. Open the cover printer, cartridges will move to the middle position.
2. Remove the cartridge (be careful, do not touch the element cartridges or print head by hand), then stick the tip cartridge (print head) to clean water
3. Then, attach the print head to a tissue paper. If there is a tissue paper used in ink (black cartridges, black block lines, and color cartridges, three color red yellow blue lines), means the flow of ink to the print head is normal. If the
tissue paper no trace of ink, attach back into the water, repeat the above process.
4. After process is complete no.3, clean the cartridges with a tissue paper (careful, do not touch the element cartridges or print head by hand, because it will damage the cartridge). After cartridge clear of the water, insert the cartridges into printer.

My hp d2360 has several gaps either in black or colored after an interval, when I cleaned the ink waste pad the first print was neat and all black but later it has gaps

Did you refill the cartridges? If yes, you seem to much inkrefill. When hp refilled cartridges, respiratory holes must beclosed as usual. The hole should not be sealed but should notbe too loose. If too tight, the ink will not come out, if too loose, ink will flood because the force of gravity. At the time of printing, and emerging gaps, try to head off and check the bottom of the head is the ink floods.

I have just changed my black ink cartridge however still patchy

Typically you do not have to change the color cartridge when you replace the black cartridge.
As far as the spotty printing, it sounds like you have some clogged nozzles caused by the lower quality of ink in refilled or aftermarket cartridges. There cartridge inks may not be up to specification. This is especially true for the ultra fine printers.
To clear the problem you need to insert an OEM cartridge, run the deep nozzle cleaning utiliity at least twice followed by the alignment utility. This should clear up the problem with the spotty and washed out printout.
Let me know if this solves your problem otherwise we can explore other solutiions. For the record, which printer do you have?
Please rate this solution. Thanks.

I have a canon 1200s printer that has new canon cartridges, ALTHOUGHI'vw clEANED THE PRINTHEAD IT STILL PRINTS ONLY PATCHY, FADED COPY WITH LINES RUNNING THROUGH IT. ANY IDEAS? THANK YOU C

Run a a deep cleaning cycle then run the alignment test and realign the head correctly. Then print the test sheet again. It sometimes takes a few cleaning cycles to get the ink flowing correctly especially if the prinetr is in a warm environment and has not been used for a while.

Grid pattern on Canon MP760 test print is patchy and cleaning process does not fix it.

You can try to remove the print head and ink cartridges.
Soak the head in an ammonia10-20% solution with warm water for 30-45 min.
Dry the head completely and re-install.Now run your grid patter,
It sonds like(from the grid reference)that only the black is clogging. This is a pigmented ink and tend to dry if not used for months at a time.
