Question about Honeywell Programmable Thermostat Heater
I have Honeywell RTH230B programmable thermostats installed. They have been working fine for months. Now, they occasionally fail to turn off the furnace - and the house heats up indefinitely. After manually turning the furnace off and on, sometimes this problem corrects itself. Recently the problems are happening more frequently. When the thermostat reaches the set temp., it does "click" and indicate that the heat is off, but the furnace stays on... Any thoughts??? Sorry if this has been asked already.
Sounds like a relay sticking. Possibly in the thermostat or possibly the furnace relay at the furnace. The next time it happens, unplug the thermostat from the wall. If the furnace still runs then it's the furnace relay.
Hope that helps...
