Question about HP Pavilion a1240n (EG136AA) PC Desktop

HANG-UP/STOCK-UP After using my computer for 20-30 minutes it hang-up and you'll have to turn it off through the cpu but when you turn it on again it won't work anymore it will say disc error or reboot or sometimes insert windows installation disc and start computer repair..what should i do?

Inert Windows disk to boot it up and access it in safe mode, remove all unnecessary program, clean it using Reginout cleaner. Hope it would help. Thanks

Hmmm..not a happy machine at all..

try to boot from install disc, and you MAY need to reinstall operating system, assuming that the drive is not compromised.

Your CPU Fan is faulty or not functioning properly. This probably is due to overheating of the CPU, and the System Unit will shutdown to prevent further damage to your Mainboard. Replace the CPU Fan.

My pc getting hang after 5 minute to power on. Its working only for 5 min. ok after that its getting hang . When reboot it shows startup repair. I have installed windows 7 60-70 times. am tired plz...


Check that the CPU is not overheating,

when you turn the computer on press the delete key (depending on model) go into setup/bios then
into system /pc health and see what temperature the CPU is (70oC +is too hot)

I have a old pc cotaining 1.7 celeron processor, 256ddr ram and 40 gb hdd. xp sp2 hang at 34munits remaining but win98 is perfectly. what can I do?


hello

windows xp mostly used minimum of 512 mb RAM. try upgrading your ram and check your fan and heatsink if it is seated properly on the cpu, because if the computer hang mostly the cpu is hot.

try it again.... when installing an OS it can hang for a while... especially if it is a version of windows... if you wait two hours and no screen change then your hard drive is probably shot...

The system was hanged after few min


Be sure that the CPU fan is working, it maybe causing the computer to halt to protect hardware damage of your computer.

The mother donot boot up if the cpu in its maximum speed


Computer hanging means it is unstable try 2.2 ghz instead and use a benchmark program off net to test system

T40 hangs after boot up. Sometimes does not show anything on boot


it may be because of the cpu cooler is so full of dust that the fan cant go around and the cpu gets hot and the whole system freezes or something else is totaly screwed up

hello. try to find original manual and check & try to set jumpers. Before that remove the battery and put it back in if you didnt try that, so the mboard will reset. hope helped any

Hang poblem


have you try to check disk first? scandisk then, try to defrag your computer.. then restart your computer.. if your computer hang again.. i suggest to backup all your files if you have flashdisk or an external harddrive.. so you can format your computer.. then you should upgrade your computer memory..
