Have the same problem had it fixed once with a $4.50 fuse that cost over $250.00 in labor and in home fix, it took the guy longer to get to the part than it did to replace it, he was done in about 30 minutes, now the tv is dead again less than a year later and after replacing the lamp also for ~$200.00 I am ready to toss this hunk of junk to the curb and buy a Vizio with ext. warranty from Sears.

Well my repairman is on his way out again to repalce the thermal fuse again, probably get a Christmas card from him this year becoming a frequent customer. He said this should not happen twice, his tips are to make sure it is away from the wall and that it gets a good vaccuming frequently to keep dust from building up and overheating the tv. Sony would not help with the repair cost for the 2nd time for $250.00, So that will be the last Sony product I buy ever.

Most Sony 6-blink codes for projection TVs follow this pattern:
6 times, Diagnosis: LOW B OCP/OVP (Overcurrent/over voltage). Possible causes: +5 line is overloaded. (A, B boards), +5 line is shorted. (A, B boards). Symptoms of the problem: No picture.

I have a Sony KDF-55WF655 and the bulb blew out and I smelled something electrical burning.

3 blinks is indicating that the lamp door cover isnt making contact so the lamp door cover is either attached wrong or the switch is defective.

Problem for Sony Grand WEGA KDF-55WF655. Hello,

5 times Red LED blinks means Lamp Driver Error. (KDF-55WF655)
2 possible reasons, either Lamp is gone or Ballast Supply got bad.
Replace lamp first, in most cases it solved the problem.
How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently?
Thanks.

Sony KDF 55WF655 rear Project tv Power/standby light flashing

This would be an error code indicating a problem.  You didn't mention if anything else was going on with the TV as in no picture, or no sound.  If the TV is operating just fine, there could be a bug in the software causing this.  If there is a problem, the best thing would be to contact Sony and relay that error message and go from there.

SONY GRAND WEGA KF-50WE610 can't turn on TV screen.

Ths 5 blinks usually indicate an AKB problem. There is a break in the video path. I'll look up your specific model and post the results here. Please update this if you wish to attempt the repair yourself.

Thanks,
Dan

Tv won't turn on red lights blinking

You are hearing the spark gap mounted on the lamp ballast board. If you can hear that sound, that means everything in the lamp driver circuit is working except the lamp!

Get a new lamp.

There's a fan in the optical block (light engine) You may also have either an intermittent fan or a bad connection from the fan(s)

Try cleaning your air filter sounds like its a thermal problem, often its due to an obstruction in the air filter.
