You need a new battery. You can purchase one on ebay or at Nintendo.com.

Removing the battery and trying to play with the charger will not work either, you must have a working battery in the DS for it to come on or to be able to use the charger.

We had this problem with a brand new DS Lite...turns out it was a bad charger. If you have access to another charger, try that first. Good luck!

My DS power

How long have you had that battery in your DS? The more you use (play and charge) the battery, the battery's capacity is decreased. Try getting a new battery at,
usg.html">http://www.calcellular.com/ntd-ba-usg.html (for DS lite)
or
nds.html">http://www.calcellular.com/ntd-ba-nds.html (for DS).

Ds lite

You never want to play the DS while it's charging, if constsntly persisted it can cause a form of battery leak.

IMPORTANT: Don't charge the DS until it dies on you completely!

When charging the DS the system will display a red light to show it's at its lowest energy, the time it takes to fully charge a DS can take up to 2-3 hours. In the second hour of charging the light will appear green but you don't want to disturb it until the light goes off. ( showing it's energy is full )
